What happens here

This project details the process of clearing extensive brush and debris from pruned apple trees using a skid steer-mounted wood chipper. The goal is to transform large piles of branches into usable wood chips for mulching, composting, or other applications, enhancing landscape sustainability and cleanliness.

and this right here folks is the business end of this machine do not do not do not walk in front of that we got a brush crisis going on guys welcome back to the Stony Ridge Farm I am up here at my neighbor Tony's house and I did a good deed for a neighbor and I just couldn't stand it if you look all behind me I just trimmed his apple trees you'll see that in a future video and my neighbor Tony is such a great guy he's like oh man just leave it there and I'll take care of it he's in his 80s we can't have that so today what we're going to be doing is helping to clean up this brush here and we're going to show him the wood chipper the wood Max wood chipper so come along today as we clean up this absolute disaster of a mess that I made at my neighbor's house and I just can't bring myself to let him do it man so neighbors helping neighbors a good time a good feeling and you guys are going to have a good time seeing a cool piece of Machinery running on the skid steer free the word I ain't the freedom me I ain't afraid to get the job done and do it in my own damn way I ain't afraid alive times like this if you mess with my freedom I'll tell you just what you can kiss that's right welcome back to the Stony Ridge Farm Channel guys this is your first time of your 50th time here please hit that like button subscribe the channel love to have you back we do everything from side by sides to equipment to Skid Steers to tools tractors cows chickens goats whatever man you name it rural content car restoration hot rods all kinds of fun stuff so what we have here are two apple trees and you'll see these apple trees in a future video on the Stoney Ridge Farm we took these guys back way back now I want your comments what do you think look at all the brush look at all the debris that we have here this is from these two apple trees this one turned out absolutely perfect this will really pop in the spring when we're pruning trees we're pruning them back in the cold winter months for spring growth so can't wait to see what this one looks like and that one that one hadn't been trimmed up and or maintained appropriately for at least eight years so we had a lot on our hands with this job and you'll see a little bit of footage from that job right now stay tuned for a future video on that so all this debris all this apple wood is going to be chipped up am I going to save some of these wood chips for the smoker you darn right I am sure I am we're gonna blow these chips back into the woods and let me show you the tool that we're going to be using look at this this is about man almost three quarters of an acre of brush and debris that needs to be removed it is a mess huge mess now the tool that we're going to be using today along with our Gale rt210 skid loader this track loader right here people call them skid loaders compact Track Loader whatever you want to call it it's a diesel machine very cool setup rt210 what we have here is the wood max power equipment MX 9900 SS skid steer means it runs on the hydraulic system on the skid steer right here so we Engage The Hydraulics with a little button it starts spinning the wheels and that helps us to feed the wood into the wood chipper and this is a really cool machine very safe also if you guys haven't seen this machine on the channel before now you get to see it full on this machine will take up to nine inch material this little wheel spins inside there and slowly turns we've got an adjuster right here push to stop means if we have an emergency and this thing starts sucking in the chipper bam you push it to stop and it'll actually throw it into reverse we've got one through ten speed forward 1 through 10 speed backwards and you'll also see this Critter right here by the way made in the USA America baby that's what I'm talking about so woodmax has a proprietary system in here and you see these little hydraulic cylinders uh kind of like an automotive style like it used to hold your hood or your trunk lid up or your hatch on like a hatchback so what we have here those help pull this down and help to guide the logs they provide constant pressure and this is a wood Max I believe it's a patented system from woodmax that helps guide the wood back up into there so we just start loading wood into the Chute right here as we load it into the input Chute this little hydraulic motor right here turns and feeds all of the wood into the chipper thus blowing it out of the hopper and you see the hopper or the discharge chute is blowing the wrong way so we've got to push this down rotate this over and we're going to lock it in place right there it has little detents right in here where it locks in place and this will be where we discharge all of our wood chips this is adjustable in case you're doing it in the back of a truck or if you want to discharge kind of straight down almost straight down I'll show you how it adjusts there are two little handles right here we can sling it up or we can sling it down about right there what we're going to do is about halfway through just like so we'll snug this guy into place and if you're using a wood Max wood chipper and you need to adjust say you got a great big pile of wood chips that's what we want to make because we're going to harvest some of those for the smoker we can rotate this around while the machine is running we just don't want to rotate it that way and this right here folks is the business end of this machine do not do not do not walk in front of that if we have an emergency each one of us are trained to do the right thing to solve this problem we shut the machine off immediately if we have any sort of emergency woodmax recommends that someone stays in the machine the entire time that this apparatus is running so what we'll do zip around the other side reach in turn the key off in case of emergency and never ever approach the discharge chute use your head right hearing protection is definitely a good idea and eye protection is definitely a good idea hearing protection is required if you want to be able to hear when you're 85 you better put put some hearing protection in on this so that is the machine that we're going to be using today the wood Max MX 9900 SS for skid steer mounts right up with a skid steer quick attach this is the brush this is the job and now we're going to get busy [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign guys so let's take you over here and show you everything's cooling down right now uh machine's still turning it idles down very slowly we'll go ahead and put it in neutral right here you might have saw we got hung up on one piece and a big knob on the end of it so again this is the MX 9900 SS from woodmax these are the chips this is what we've got this is what came out of all that debris it chips it up into an awesome fine usable wood chip that you could put in flower beds we're just blasting it into the Forest right now and I'm gonna get me a couple buckets of this stuff and we're going to be using that in the new Offset Smoker that I'm getting ready to build on the channel guys there'll be a link to the wood Max there'll be a link to both chainsaws we used in the video today down in the video description I hope you enjoyed this what a great time helping a neighbor and a heck of a good workout man you guys have a wonderful day thank you so much for joining me and Tony here on the Stoney Ridge Farm bring your kids [Music]
