before you buy a yank them rope watch this video I've got every size yank them rope imaginable here including these big dogs that you just could not believe but that doesn't mean it's right for you today we're going to hop on the phone with the manufacturer of these things and figure out exactly what you need and what you don't want so let's dive into today's video what it's not going to tip over is it I don't know we'll find out now feel free to back up and we can give we can give her a little bit a little bit more help [Music] yeah we're good all right guys I've got Alan from yakim ropes on the line Ally can you just briefly tell me what you do for yankem founding owner of it I've got one partner and I do all of the r d and testing of all of our products so the very first thing I want to clear up Alan is how you size the right yank them rope because there is some confusion in that if you ask me so how do we get the right size rope so what you do is you you want to put the right rope with the vehicle that's doing the recovery so the the vehicle that's going to be bouncing on the end of this kinetic rope so the way it works a diesel truck uh will use a one inch rope side by side I'll use a three-quarter inch and we've got ropes that go big enough for the very the very largest tractors for industrial farming okay okay so so if I have I've got a one inch rope here I got a diesel truck am I stuck just trying to pull out other diesel truck size things no because you can bounce on the end of this rope you can pull out anything bigger than you we've seen videos of guys pulling out 93 000 pound liquid fertilizer trailers on semis with a one inch rope and a pickup truck yep diesel truck yep yep okay so it's not like if I'm trying to pull something that's bigger than me out I gotta go grab a honking bigger rope once you find the right rope for your vehicle you throw it in there and it just stays with you yep exactly and then what's happening is when you're bouncing on the end of this rope it's kinetic energy you are multiplying your pulling force with a smaller recovery vehicle okay awesome now I realize on your website you help people size this thing up but I've got all of the ropes here to make it easy for guys watching the video I got a half inch rope what is that gonna go with Alan so half inch ropes for like single occupancy Vehicles so four wheelers um and snowmobiles okay and then I got a three-quarter inch rope here what is that gonna go for so that's good for all of your side by sides we've had side by sides uh two-seater Can-Am side by sides dislodge 6 000 pound Land Cruiser stuck in the snow okay I got a one inch rope here and is that good for like three quarter to one ton pickups your welder and you've got your air compressor and the kitchen sink you want to go up to the inch and a quarter and the inch and a half ropes okay so wait a minute I got an inch and a half rope right here what is that for that's for your service bed Vehicles as well as your smaller yellow iron for instance like backhoes and skidsters Etc okay I got a two inch rope what's that for thing that you would use on the farm basically and then your two and a half inch rope what is that good for that's for the very least your combines your fertilizer spreaders um your articulating tractors the quad track Case tractors Etc and your smaller mining equipment smaller mining equipment okay [Music] now there is a right way and a wrong way to use one of these ropes can you walk us through that please and thank you Al so oh for sure so these ropes are designed so you they honestly don't make great toe ropes since they are they are a little bit more expensive they work wonderfully for dragging a vehicle down the down the highway but these are designed to get the vehicle unstuck whatever it is stuck in the mud it's not it's extraction is what we're specializing in okay and tell me the process you first hook up what do you do okay so the first thing you want to do when you're using your new rope you want to do what's called a rolling recovery so you get the Rope up off the ground it's still not tight and what you do is you roll forward until your vehicle stops moving until your recovery vehicle stops moving forward okay now just put the truck in drive and do nothing else that's it we're gonna let the truck go forward and just tighten up that roll yeah that's that's it right there so that's your rolling recovery so that's your light bounce and then what that does is that that increases your pulling force on the vehicle or whatever it is that's stuck after that what you do is if that doesn't get whatever is stuck unstuck then you back up and you roll forward with a little bit more momentum and you slowly up the ante and we can give we can give her a little bit more help okay go ahead feel free to put her in gay gear and give her a little bit more hell I hopefully won't fall out yeah we're good so if like I said if that second attempt doesn't work then you roll back a little bit farther and you roll forward and you bounce on the end of the Rope if that doesn't work do it again do it again okay so you are actually telling us to do something that people should not be doing with a chain is that right chain or a static flat strap that's a really good way to break one of those devices a steel chain will store a little bit of kinetic energy but they're not designed to be shock loaded when you shock load a chain you can break them and then they can become projectiles into either the vehicle that's stuck or put the recovery vehicle that you're sitting in now that's a really good point because if that thing does break there have been people that have actually been killed by the parts and pieces flying and the shrapnel hitting people so you don't happen to have a recovery rope but yank them ready to go and you are stuck using a chain please throw something over the middle of that chain a big heavy blanket something so that if that chain breaks it's less likely to go set flying and sailing because the weight of that blanket will actually slow that uh slow that down from flying if if I'm thinking of this thing the right way Alan yeah you always want to know what the working load limit the wll of the equipment you're using make sure that you've got the right size of chain cable uh synthetic winch line flat strap or a kinetic recovery rope know your equipment know the situation you're in slow down pay attention and Recovery situations are Ever Changing as soon as something starts to move or starts there's lots of lots of unknowns that can happen so slow down take your time okay so if I'm completely understanding this correctly if I throw a one inch recovery rope in my pickup truck I can tackle anything I find but if I can't get that big thing let's say I find a stuck semi like you said earlier if I can't get that stuck semi out with my pickup truck and my one inch rope and I need to pull in a bigger piece of recovery equipment that's when I would go to a bigger recovery rope like an inch and a half or a two inch roll so the Rope exactly so the Rope stays with the recovery vehicle not the vehicle that's stuck exactly so if you if you can't get it out with your diesel truck and you've been bouncing on the end of that rope and then somebody shows up with a large backhoe that large backhoe would break that one inch rope okay last question for you Alan why would we buy a yankem rope you are more expensive than the cheap ones on Amazon so why would somebody go and spend more money on a yank them rope when they can save money on Amazon and get something else we only entire world um these so what we do we actually manufacture these ropes in Southern Idaho we take those those nylon fibers we twist the yarn and then we braid the Rope we go start to finish we take those nylon fibers we braid the Rope we splice the eyes we dip it we tag it we do everything we do all of the QC we do our testing um we we strive and we thrive on making sure that you're getting the very best and the strongest hope for the advertised diameter so are you telling me that that may not be happening with the cheap Chinese ropes that have no control procedures over them from across the sea yeah there are there are always grades nylon some of them are not produced in controlled environments and so that that nylon fiber is not nearly as strong as what we Source okay if a guy wants a yank them roll where do they go what do they do Alan Vehicles you need to pair it with so that there's we take out all of the guessworks you know which rope you need for your recovery vehicle okay now if I send my audience your way are you will you make me a promise that you're going to do something cool for them I don't care what you do give them a hug give them a t-shirt give them a hug give them a discount but you'll do something come over from from this video or from you at any point in time we'll give you a little you know we'll give you a promo code that you can share with everybody if if somebody doesn't use it they just you know say hey Stanley from dirt monkey sent me over here uh we're gonna give them a nice discount awesome that's all I need so tell them the dirt monkey sent you and you're gonna hook them up with something cool right yep perfect all right all right you guys well first off I want to say thank you to Alan for taking the time to to do this video with me because I will tell you I hopped on the phone with him and I learned a ton I learned that one of the things I didn't know how to size one of these out I had no clue I was like like a lot of you guys uh where I just looked at him like ah do I want an inch do I want an inch and a half rope what size rope do I want now we've cleared that up you want a one inch rope for a three-quarter to one ton pickup truck and we know what what everything else we could do I also was a little hesitant about bouncing on that rope and you're telling me that they're designed to be bounced on you're supposed to bounce on them that's what they're meant for um exactly so yeah thank you Alan for coming in and clearing that up I hope this video has helped some of you guys clear some of that up because I used to use change and I was chains and I was always I know the danger of chains and I didn't know how to properly use one of these so thanks for for clearing that up with me Ellen hope you guys enjoyed this video that's all I got for you on this one go over to yank them ropes check them out these are a hundred percent American made they took the time to do this video with me so that I could clear up some of those misconceptions with you so show some love to the people that are willing to go out stick their neck out and try to help you guys out that's all I gotta say on this one God bless go get em you guys any last words Alan Stanley you're one of my favorite channels thank you sir at least I got one person to say it that's all we got on this one God bless you guys go get em see you in another one
