The farm sitter failed. Well, kind of failed. There were broken bones and the four-wheeler sustained an injury. Basically, a lot of things sustained an injury, but the cows were okay. The farm sitter did his job there. Come along. We'll tell you the story. Hey, I went to the beach and the farm sitter. [Music] All right, guys. Welcome back to the Stony Ridge Farm channel. We do bloopers and we'll show you other cool stuff here. We're on a 150 acre first generation farm here in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina. And I finally got my one vacation per year. I went down I'm in North Carolina. Like I said, I went down to a little beach called Oak Island. It's my favorite little vacation spot. My aunt has a place down there so I can stay relatively affordable. I'm not a wealthy man. I enjoy staying there. I don't like hustle and bustle. It's a very quiet beach, so don't go there. I hired a young man who's a good friend of mine, who is a dear, dear friend of mine. He's 24 years old now. We're going to call him Flynn. And we're going to call his female companion Rapunzel. That's what we're going to call him because I don't want to call him out by name. He's a great guy. I love him to death. If you're watching, this is me picking on you, razing you, buddy. Because the four-wheeler sustained an injury and so did his lady friend. Having a farm, having a piece of property like this, 50some cows, 30 something chickens, gardens, lawns to mow, gates to watch, we've got freezers that are running. Everything has to be checked on a daily basis. When I left the farm, I left him a list of daily where the cows need to be moved because we move the cows every single day, if not twice a day. And I just moved these cows into this pasture and they're singing to me. So, he needed to move cows. He needed to get up eggs. He needed to make sure chickens were fed. and watered. He needed to make sure that the gate was always closed. He needed to make sure the freezers were running. And he had a detailed list and he did a fantastic job at doing that. I told him at the bottom of the list, have fun and enjoy yourself. That part of the list did not mean to take the four-wheeler and flip it. So, the story goes that Flynn and Rapunzel um were out here. Also, the rules were no dudes. You can't have any dudes up here. No parties, no dudes, no nothing like that. Just you. And if you want to bring your lady friend and show around, go for it. I think showing off got the best of Flynn. I think Flynn wanted to go have a good time and take his lady friend all around the farm. And this is 150 acres, man. You can ride for a good half hour, stop at a pretty place, waterfalls, creeks, uh, beautiful rolling hills. We got an outdoor kitchen. All sorts of spots to just chill out, relax, and enjoy your lady friend. Well, Flynn took his lady friend way, way, way over here on the back side of the farm, across a creek where there was a tree down. He had to hop over the tree, cross the creek, got way, way back, as far as we can get away from the house, and did the most dangerous thing accidentally. So, he's pretty familiar with the four-wheeler. And this is a Honda Foreman 500. very safe machine, but it's not recommended to have passengers. That being said, this four-wheeler has some external racks on it, which makes it a little bit unstable. Flynn took the four-wheeler and his lady friend, and I don't think she quite understood the balance of the four-wheeler. And the story goes, and you guys tell me this if you like this story, but the story goes, man, I was just turning it around and I just gave it a little gas. And if you don't know, a four-wheeler is controlled with your thumb. And if you're not used to riding one all the time, it can be a little a little jumpy. Well, it got a little jumpy. It got a little squirly and it tipped over on its side and tore some stuff up. I'll show you in just a second what it broke, what it tore up. But the biggest thing that it tore up, um, and you're not supposed to have passengers on this. I carry passengers on it. You're supposed to have a helmet on it, your safety gear on it. It's my four-wheeler, right? It's it's it's my choice, but it's not his four-wheeler, and I really didn't see this coming. So, he got out way way way on the backside out in a flat field, but he didn't really know the turf or know the terrain. And that's the danger of having a piece of property like this or having someone come and work for you or mow for you. I know where every hump is, every bump is, every rock is, every log is. He doesn't know that. And what I think happened was he turned the wheel and he hit a log and it tipped the four-wheeler up on its side. The bad thing about it was Rapunzel was on the back and Rapunzel instead of just toppling off of the four-wheeler, Rapunzel locked her elbow. Locked her elbow out on that back rack. I'll show you in just a second. And when she did that, pop, it broke her arm. Broke her arm. I did not anticipate this. I called him. Everything was going great on the farm. I could tell he was nervous. Um, again, this guy is a great dear friend of mine, and there's no hard feelings whatsoever. I'm just glad he's okay. She's okay. And I don't hold it against him one bit. But he did boooo and flip the four-wheeler over and tore some stuff up and broke his lady friend's arm, which is so unfortunate. But the fortunate thing is his lady friend is moving in a couple weeks. And now that he's rendered her incapacitated, he's got to help her move. What do you guys think? Uh, leave me some comments what you think. Should I hire him back? Should I say no? I think, man, people mess up. People make mistakes. I've made mistakes. I've never flipped a four-wheeler. Knock on wood. Um, people make mistakes. They run into stuff. They break stuff. They run over fruit trees. Like I ran over a fruit tree out here the other day. They just do that. People do that. Cows tear stuff up. Chickens tear stuff up. We make mistakes in life. I totally forgive my friend. What What was his name again? Flynn. Is that right? Yes. Flynn, I totally totally don't blame you. You're a great guy. You got a wonderful bright future ahead of you. I want you back here farm sitting. I know you love to come up here and stay. We are dear friends and this doesn't bother me to the least. I'm just glad you're okay and Rapunzel's okay. Let me show you guys what he broke on the four-wheeler. So, I have these Culpin Rhino grips on my ATV. On all four corners, I have them. They are super handy. I'll post a link to them in the video description along with these Culpin racks. These kind of throw the center of balance off. And if you look right here, this is a pretty big rack and it typically has three buckets in the back. All right. I think right here is a safety warning thing that says, "No passengers. Never operate without proper training or instructions. Speeds too fast for your skills or conditions." Flynn. Um, so what Flynn did, the four-wheeler tipped on this side. His lady friend was sitting back here, and I guess she had a hold of the rack right there and just hyperextended and broke that elbow. um or broke her arm. This bottle holder was damaged and broken. The rack is kind of flopping around and one of these Rhino grips took a hit. So, they're pretty tough, but they can't take but so much of a hit. So, that got smashed, knocked off, and damaged. These are about 80 bucks. He's totally going to compensate me for that. I appreciate him. And people make mistakes, guys. I just thought it'd be a funny story to tell you about Flynn and Rapunzel flipping the four-wheeler or just lightly rolling the four-wheeler. Just an unfortunate thing. She just felt just right to hurt herself. Now he's got to pay for it by well buying that Rhino grip. And uh tell me, should I make him pay for the Rhino Grip? What do you guys think? And he's got to help Rapunzel move. So I'm out here with the cows hanging out. Just thought I'd share this little story with you guys. The cows are chewing. They ain't mooing, which means they're happy. And we'll see you guys in the next video on the Stony Ridge Farm. I'm not angry. I'm not mad. I hate it for her. I hate it for him. People make mistakes, guys. We got to learn to forgive, right? Thanks a lot for watching. We'll see you in the next video. Check out some cool stuff here at the end of this one. There'll be three links to three different videos, and we'd love to have you back here on the farm. Subscribe. Take care. >> That's Donnie.
