(16,185 characters)[Music] well it's starting starting to get into here running running curbs how many seasons has that been two right I think it's been two yep it's really starting to get thin up in here yeah it's time to replace that cuz once you get into the metal then you're uh R your Clow then then we got bigger problems than just trying to put on new Cutting Edge all right guys Tim and I are at Pride Solutions and you may or may not remember this but was it 2020 we put on a Cutting Edge for a back plow and that Cutting Edge is still going strong to this day it hasn't chipped it hasn't broke we haven't even flipped it yet and we're going to go inside we're going to build a new Cutting Edge with these guys we're going to show you exactly what they do because they make probably one of the best cutting edges that we've ever experienced for back plow so let's go in and check it out thank you sir how do you get [Music] in Jack how are you stand good to meet you guys this is Jack he's the president of Pride Solutions now there's actually four companies in this and I was just tell Tim and I were just showing The Cutting Edge that we've got on our boss back plow yep and we were talking about that short iron Cutting Edge that we put on back that was back in 2020 2020 so that's over 2020 that's three seasons and last season was an insane season for us we had 120 in plus of snow it was like plowing two seasons in one mhm L snow yep and that Cutting Edge we haven't flipped okay we haven't touched okay and so we're back we still run strong it's still running strong so I promise these guys we would show and have you explain what you do that makes a Cutting Edge that's going to outlast an oem Cutting Edge y I mean because we've proven it yep on four or five plows now yep all right sounds great so you going to give us a tour yeah let's do it all right let's go so what all do you guys do here we do all kinds of stuff so this is just a little timeline of the of the company we started back in 1972 as May West uh my family bought it in 2002 and been running ever since so we've done some diversification had some nice growth but uh yeah that's my schooler okay all right so coming on the floor uh we'll kind of give you guys a quick tour of what we do here but first and foremost here this is our CNA Pro skis uh we manufacture and distribute these skis worldwide um we sponsor the majority of the iceo circuit so the professional Racers uh you know and then cover every single uh riding style mountains the little kitty cats all the way up to the professional guys so so you don't just do cutting edges no we do a little bit of everything so so you do uh skis but skis really isn't a big part of your business skis are are a part of our business uh the agricultural side is is the biggest that makes up about 50% of our okay so you you you guys really got cut your teeth building agricultural equipment yep and uh that's how we started back in the70s was classic parts for the agricultural industry and kind of an interesting Side Story is this was a bankrupt business correct yep and it was completely shut down by the bank yep doors were locked um your family bought it yep and revived it brought it back to life and now you got like 40 some people that you employ fulltime here making skis making agriculture equipment building cutting it yep exactly so these are our two CNC routers similar to what you see in like a cabinet shop you know making baking cabinets in wood shop but we make it out of uhmw and this is obviously uh thinner material wait uh what uhmw okay this is kind of an important element to understand uhmw is not what an oem Cutting Edge is actually made out of cor an O OEM which is a manufacturer's Cutting Edge uses a recycled material which tends to wear faster and costs less y hence manufacturers go to that when they're going to sell their part correct but by coming directly to you guys the cost can actually where's Eric Eric hey when you're done Lolly gagging over there I got a question for you how these guys stay in business all right you done over there here I think so are you chasing mice or what were you doing you never know what you're going to play in okay so you were telling me off camera Eric that your prices for cutting edges are actually on some not all cases but some cases less expensive than what guy would buy if he was going right to the factory to do it yeah right from the OEM manufacturer right from the OEM manufacturer and Jack you were telling me that they last longer because of the type of material this is a long strand Y type of material versus yeah so we're using Virgin uhmw which is ultra high molecular weight polyethylene that's a mle I know but the oems are using urethane hdp or recy uhmw okay but virgin uhmw is are going to last a lot longer okay it's a lot more durable so is that why my Cutting Edge on my short iron is still holding up where I'm replacing a Cutting Edge on a PL that I bought after it y with a new Cutting Edge yep exactly all right we talked about The Cutting Edge on the short iron here it is look at how much freaking Cutting Edge is left on that thing that's not even close to being roared out that Cutting Edge is insane you're going to upgrade your plow start with a Cutting Edge cuz it's a wear part and you're going to be replacing it and replacing it in the middle of the Season sucks do it in the beginning and forget about it if you're going to do it do it once don't do it twice three four freaking times that one's 3 years old and and this guy's been here for how long he's been here before my family bought the business so he has J has been here quite a while the reason I asked it as I saw his picture of there you go yeah Jason how are you right are doing good Jason is a man of few words but big actions he's got stuff to do he's working he's working so we take the sheets of poly put it on the bed here this the back table so that's what holds it down and then the CNC router bit goes and cuts out the the shape of the the apart all right good deal and is that is this machine the magic behind it and the materials you use that combo is really what makes it work exactly okay so what are you going to make our Cutting Edge out of we're going to make out of uhmw so so this is just a drop piece but this is what we're going to be making it out of yeah that that looks like the same stuff that is on our sh iron isn't it y so we'll cut out you know the overall dimensions of the part and then we'll have the mounting holes counter sunk in there too you know one of the interesting things that you said off camera is at least in the agricultural industry these plastic parts Outlast the steel parts correct which I find mindboggling to be quite honest with you yep that's how we started back in the ' 70s is we were they started making skid shoes which go underneath the corn header out of plastic instead of Steel and it lasted twice as all right [Music] go all the way bass backwards once [Music] Tim try the other side wait you can't can't do the other side yeah do try yeah do this side I'll tell you when go for it slowly though keep going go go go go go go go go go you're clear you're clear go go go okay yep yeah it's got that weird Notch right there that weird notch oh yeah this side must be broken we'll just have to measure it borrowed my big ratchet to Al s his the other day come on [Music] okay so Eric's going to show us the proper way to measure cuz you're not going to be able to come down here and I'll have you measure these out from him so if you're going to order online what does the guy got to do to make sure he gets the cut the bolt holes in the right spot yep I always pull the measurement so you can either go left or right normally that's how we recommend it um on whether your box plow bucket get Pusher or whatnot put your tape measure on the very edge okay okay so you can see this first hole is at 5 1/2 in okay second hole at 17 1/2 okay third hole 29 9/16 okay then we got about 41 and 1/2 okay so do that don't do the other thing show them how not to yep a lot of a lot of individuals will sit there and they'll get their first hole located uh and they'll come back and they'll try to Center put the tape on the center of the hole and then measure distance the distance from Center to Center the problem with that is if you're a fraction of an inch off let's say a 16th and an inch off by the time you get 2 34 holes down you could be as well as up to a/ inch off on your hle spacing well I mean want a 16t blade if you're a 16th of an inch off and every foot right you're 116th off you're an inch off by the time you get to the other end of your right y y okay so what happens if somebody does give you the wrong measurements Nancy what's go what happens okay so we put the order into the system and if it's got the the wrong measurements then it goes down into production and then Matt catches it and the last thing you want to have happen during the busy season when we're going like Gang Busters here is for Matt to come upstairs and tell you that you've got your measurements wrong okay because there's no refunds there's no refunds on right so get your measur right folks that's what she's saying right and he says that he's covered enough blades that he can almost tell when somebody's giv you the wrong measurements because manufacturers are so consistent with their bolt holes because they're all made it's not like some guy just going a we'll put one here we'll put one there we'll put one there no they have it all dialed right in yeah exactly so he can just tell by a pattern two two 3 in and then I think you were saying I don't know if this was probably six at one point you know cuz I I know how much wore off but the the the middle one can't be that much that wore off so the center part right now is measuring about 5 in okay so it depends on how much you think it's come off the blade already so it may have started at 6 in yeah but I mean if we go 8 in it's just going to give you more wear yeah why wouldn't we care I why would there's nothing it's not going to rip out of here if you hit something you know be any longer that's that's the good thing about poly is it's it's got some give to it it's it'll you'll roll we don't counter the holes just them through see that's the other thing that uh Nancy you were saying is typically you guys like to Center the holes so you can flip the blade right y but on this plow you can't do that because you've got this hard Edge right here that eliminates it but if this was just putting it on a board like this you'll Center that hole when one half wears down flip it around flip it around twice the life makes Twice As Nice [Music] okay so this is vacuum stck to the table right now right Matt these vacuum pumps here supply vacing for the colos run through that hle is there so you have these barricaded off because they run at 190° 190 plus so at times I mean like in the summer they can get up 225° at the airs that's coming off of so you can get quite hot back here all that is just to make sure that while you're cutting this that sheet doesn't move yeah cuz the vacuum pressure is all that holds this material down to the table [Music] w so this is the program you designed in you yes sir so you wrote that 150 to 200 lines just off from the measurements I gave you that's [Music] [Applause] [Music] so here's our Center and here's our two Wings button ready to go you that camera angled that St your head now all right can you see my bald spot pretty good yeah bright and 90 all right want to make sure that it gets in there guys B the glare thank [Music] you CU all the thinking I I got the same thinking going on yeah you do a lot of thinking too yeah just the same shiny Tim you're going to have to raise your plow up higher just to go down the road yeah we get a foot and a half of snow I'll probably lock washer and one nut that consists of one Hardware kit do you guys include Hardware kits when you guys when people order a Cutting Edge or is that extra that's extra that's optional optional okay so people need to understand whether they want that Hardware kit or they're just going to go to their local hardware store and get it themselves or utilize what is on their existing you know bucket flow or what well I got to see it what is this genuine Bobcat parts for here is that the seat for our excavator it this guy's been giving me crap all day long about the seat at our excavator it'll cover up the little nails poking through I love it oh that's good stuff man okay so if you don't feel confident in you're measuring and you don't mind just getting a the plain Cutting Edge you guys will just send them out raw cut to this the length and the dimensions that they want the thickness the height the length and then they just drill their own holes and put on their own Hardware yes that's the that's the safe way if you're not sure of your measurements um you can just cut it to length for you ready all right now we got to close them up and see how they go because we had to custom cut the Gap in it to make sure that it'll [Music] seal like a glove like a glove all right swing her all the way back around yeah swing her all the way back [Music] that's about as tight as you're going to get it yeah the other side yeah go for it close yeah she's sealed pretty tight look at that you're not going to get any tighter seal than that all right go ahead swing her [Music] well I'd say it's a operation has been a [Music] success [Music] yeah Jack we've got it we got everything done everything is installed I got to watch how you guys do this but this is a lot more Cutting Edge than we came in and had yep so how is this going to compare in price to an oem cuz we're getting a thicker Cutting Edge we're getting it wider we can custom order it y I mean we can create our own Cutting Edge to whatever we want to do yep how how is that compare then to what somebody would just order off from a shelf yeah so we've done a competitive analysis and for the most part our our blades are roughly the same as OEM okay but they perform better now you touched on the customization uh you know not all blade you know depending on the age will you be able to go get replacement or maybe they don't offer ply and you can go ahead and get them from us so okay but who's us where do the guys go May West May west.com May West not West West wes.com yes sir is there a hyphen in it or anything else or www.west.com and a phone number 788 6483 one one more time Eric 1 1800 what I got he put me in a spot I he almost knows his job almost remember this was the guy chasing mice in the corner we had to go fish him all going hey Eric we're over here working so it's 1800 788 6483 okay so give them a call this is uh not my first Cutting Edge I've gotten from them and I will be ordering more effect we're going to be outfitting an Arctic next yes an Arctic Pusher an Arctic Pusher we're going to be outfitting that because there's a huge demand for pushers and areas where you just can't sacrifice the surface correct and you guys do Arctic we will do Arctic yes you do what you also you do almost anything all you need to do is di we can custom make any cutting Ed for you out there yeah you can do anything it doesn't matter there's no name it just be anything name a name yep give us the dimensions and we can custom make any Cutting Edge for you perfect and that's going to call it for today's video I just want to say thanks to these guys thank you thank you Stanley thank you Nancy appreciate you bringing me out here Jack thanks for the the yes this is great thank you thank you thank you he doesn't want to be on camera all right and that's going to call it for this one hope you guys enjoyed the ride if you guys are doing your own Cutting Edge let me know what you guys have done uh for yours but that's going to call it for this one Tim and I are going to head back to the shop and get ready because we have snow coming on Sunday and we still got more work to do so yay snow snow that's a nauy word snow white gold God bless go get it you guys we'll catch you on another
