Unusable Backyard Gets Epic Transformation - Part 2 of 2
What happens here
The custom columns are designed to encase the existing support posts. These columns are constructed from three pieces of 1x8 modern mill material. One piece is cut with two 45-degree bevels to form a 'V' shape, while the other two pieces remain flat. These components are then miter-folded together to create a hollow column that wraps around the structural post. The video shows the mitering and assembly of these column pieces, which are then nailed directly to the posts. This technique provides a clean, seamless look that is reminiscent of solid timber posts.
Goal: Create and install seamless custom columns to cover structural posts.
