(9,780 characters)I don't care about your politics, but the big beautiful bill is gonna hurt rural people in a manner that you may not know about. It's not about blue versus red versus green. This is important for every rural American that's considering putting a wood stove in their house or burns firewood for heat. This matters to you. >> I ain't afraid to work. I ain't afraid of play. I ain't afraid to get the job done and do it my own damn way. I ain't afraid to lie. Times like this. If you mess up my freedom, I'll tell you just what you can. That's right. >> Welcome back to the Stony Ridge Farm channel. This is not a political statement. I am for America. I am a veteran. I'm also for saving the taxpayer dollars. I'm also for not wasting taxpayer dollars. I'm also for getting help when I can get help. And this is what today's video is all about. I've been working with a company here called Kuma Stoves. Kuma Stoves is an all-Americanmade stove. Okay, an all-Americanmade wood burning stove. Supposedly the most efficient wood burning stove that you can get. It's not the garbage you get at the big box store. This is a super efficient wood burning stove. Wood, and this is we're going to lead into this uh big beautiful bill and how it's affected wood stoves, but wood and timber and lumber and firewood is the most renewable resource we have on this planet as a heating source. It just is super renewable. It's like grass. The trees are growing, growing, growing. They grow up, they fall over. Here on the Stony Ridge Farm, we try not to harvest any live trees unless they're pine trees for making lumber for building projects. What we've got here is again akuma stove. This is called the Kuma Cambridge made proudly made in the USA. I have an awesome relationship with this company. They make a bunch of cool wood stoves and again the most efficient wood stoves you can possibly buy. They have this filter kit right here. And on this filter kit, it says you must insert this catalyst before operating your stove. It's against federal regulations to operate this wood heater in consistently with operating instructions or if the catalytic element is not installed or removed. This wood stove has a catalytic converter which helps to burn off all of the unburnt gases from the wood making it super efficient. Guys, a lot of people depend on wood heat. Wood heat is super important for our country. It's super important for rural areas, places like Maine, places like Washington, Oregon, Wyoming. I don't know of any town in Wyoming that you don't drive through in the well, any small town in Wyoming that you drive through in the wintertime and you don't smell firewood burning. You don't smell wood stoves just like this heating homes. Now, if you're considering getting a wood stove for your home, this is the important part that I need to tell you about. And again, this isn't political, guys. This is informing you of something that you need to know. So, a few years ago, there was some legislation that came out to help homeowners out that are considering putting a high efficiency stove like this Kuma stove in their home. the big beautiful bill which just passed through various uh I guess the House and and Senate, however all that works. I don't know a whole lot about politics and I don't really care to know a whole lot about politics. You can post your ideas and thoughts down there. I tried to read the big beautiful bill all the way through and I couldn't read it all the way through. I just couldn't make my way all the way through. It probably take you 10 days to read that and you'd still be confused as to what the heck it says. But one thing that it did do which does not benefit rural folks like myself who are getting ready to put wood stoves in their shop or in their home or whatever their primary heat source might be. They cut some funding. So I've got a print off right here. I'm just going to read it out to you. This is from ethanolproducer.com because guys I got on uh the government website and tried to read through. It's it's article 42102 of the big beautiful bill. And again, I couldn't read it, but the basic gist of this I got from ethanolproducer.com. It says, "Another section of the draft bill aims to phase out a credit that supports the installation of residential heating appliances and residential oil furnace or hot water boilers that are rated to be fueled with eligible biio-based fuels. In other words, I think that that means I know it means wood stoves that burn wood like we have here on the farm. And we only burn dead fall trees, trees that have fallen down. I just stockpile wood and I'm going to burn it here to keep my house warm, to keep my garage warm, to keep everything warm. Um, and it's just a cheap way to not let this material go to waste on the forest floor. And I know worms got to eat, too. I get it. But, uh, it's super important to clean up your forest and keep it clean. All the forest fires that we've had, uh, all over the western and eastern United States are oftent times fueled by deadfalls that fall on the forest floor and they haven't been harvested or improper timber harvesting. Now, the Big Beautiful Bill has some information on timber harvesting. And I am not going to get all the way into that. But on one end, the big beautiful bill is supporting the timber industry and supporting the taxpayers. On the other end, right here, it's not so much. So, the legislation would terminate the energy efficient home improvement credit, which currently allows taxpayers to claim a tax credit for household energy efficiency improvements. The value of the credit is 30% of qualified expenses up to $1,200 annually or $2,000 for heat pumps and biomass stoves. So, we're talking about wood stoves like the Kuma stove. We're talking about your outdoor wood burning furnaces. There was money out there to help you with the expense of installing something like this because it's super expensive to install this. this stove right here plus installation and the other stove that I have over over in the other side of the uh shop which is going to be for my barnaminium home. The installation and the materials all together are going to be somewhere over 10 to 12,000. So this 2,000 bucks was super important. Um the credit is currently set to expire December 31st of 2032. The draft bill would accelerate the expiration to December 31st of 2025. In other words, this bill which allowed people a tax credit of up to 2,000 bucks for putting biomass burners in their homes, wood stoves in their homes or wood cook stoves is going away. It was supposed to go away December 31st of 2032 and now it's going away December 31st of 2025. What does that mean? That means if you're thinking about putting a high energy efficient wood stove or wood burning boiler system in your home, then you need to go ahead and act on it right now or you're not going to be able to get this tax credit. I'm not about getting subsidized by the government. But I do think that this tax credit helps offset the cost for an average guy like me putting a wood stove in his house. It's super important as a rural person that owns land that I take advantage of what mother nature has provided for me and I keep my forest floor cleaned up. That's what's super important here, guys. So, we stockpile wood, we bust wood, we do a lot of firewood stuff here on the Stony Ridge Farm. This is for the interior of my garage and the other stove that I have over there. And you guys are going to see all the installs if you subscribe to the channel. But the other stove is going to be for the inside of my home. I'm gonna heat my home primarily with biomass, with free wood from mother nature. If you're gonna get a wood stove like this Kuma stove, guys, I think it's super important that you go ahead and you act now. If you're going to get a high energy efficient wood stove, I'll post a link to Kuma Stoves. That's not your only option. And if you're thinking about a water stove, there are plenty of options out there. But be sure you follow the guidelines that you're supposed to follow in order to get this tax credit. And you got to get your stove in by December 31st of this year versus 2032. We had plenty of time to act, but now we don't. So, I got to get my stoves installed in order to get this tax credit. I want you guys to share your opinions. Tell me what you think. I know the big beautiful bill has benefited so many people and will continue to benefit so many people. I know that the death tax has been rescended which helps transfer farms and farm property to other farmers. I know that when I pass away and I hand my farm over, the big beautiful bill helps protect me and my family. So, it's super important for me to talk about this. I think I'm not here to pick sides. I'm not here to say Joe Biden. I'm not here to say Kamla. I'm not here to say Trump. I don't think any politician does everything just right all the time. And if you do think that, well, I don't know. You're just maybe you're just blind to the reality of what life is all about. I don't really trust politicians. I don't really care too much for politicians, but I do know this isn't politics. This is policy. Get your wood stove in by December 31st, guys. Send this video to people that you know are thinking about putting a wood stove in because if you don't, they might be missing out and having to spend a whole lot more money to burn wood in their home. Thank you guys so much. Please hit that like button, subscribe to the channel. I hope you enjoyed this video. There's plenty of other videos. There'll be a bunch of links right here at the end of this. And we'll see you next time on the Stony Ridge. I got to go take care of the cows. All right.
