Tricky little detail 😵‍💫 #carpentry

What happens here

A piece of composite decking material is placed on a router table with a special jig. The operator uses a Hercules brand laminate trimmer (often called a trim router) to cut a 45-degree angle along one edge of the composite material. This process generates a lot of fine shavings. The jig helps guide the router for a precise, consistent angle.

Goal: Create the first mitered edge on the composite material.

Tools and materials

  • Composite Material — The material for the corner trim
  • Jig — To accurately position and guide the router during the 45-degree cut
  • Laminate Trimmer Hercules — To cut the 45-degree angle on the composite material
  • Router Table — To hold the composite material and guide the trim router for precise angle cuts
