The solid wall E-Z Lok inserts for metal, their flagship product for 70 years, are designed to repair stripped threads. They are installed with standard drills and taps, and a Locktite coating activates upon installation for a secure fit in about 15 minutes, offering excellent torque and pull-out performance. E-Z Lok also offers coil-style inserts for metal for those who prefer that option. For wood, they provide knife thread inserts, which cut their own threads into hard wood (drill a smaller pilot hole). For softwoods, MDF, and plywoods, they offer hex drive inserts, providing a reusable threaded hole. E-Z Lok products are available through various distributors, including McMaster-Carr, Fastenal, Grainger, and Amazon.
