What happens here
Scott Laremore demonstrates how to put the Swisher Big Mow deck into maintenance mode. First, install the two safety chains that come with the unit by hooking them to the front of the deck and to the roll-over protection structure (ROPS) bar behind the seat. Next, raise the foot-pan of the mower and secure it with the safety chain. Then, raise the entire deck to its highest position, remove the deck height pins, and lower the deck back down to the ground. This releases tension on the belt system. Finally, locate the front strap mechanism, pull the pin to disengage it, and extend the strap. The deck can then be manually flipped forward and upward, securing it in a vertical position with the chains, providing easy access to the blades for sharpening or cleaning.
Goal: Demonstrate how to safely put the mowing deck into maintenance mode.
