Winterize Pressure Washer Pump

What happens here

To prepare your pressure washer for winter storage, first ensure all water is drained from the pump and hoses. Then, locate the water inlet connection on the pressure washer pump. Remove any garden hose or quick-connect fittings from this inlet. Take a bottle of pressure washer pump saver fluid, such as Mi-T-M Pressure Washer Pump Saver, and screw its nozzle onto the pump's water inlet. Once securely attached, invert the bottle and begin squeezing the solution into the pump. Simultaneously, repeatedly pull the pressure washer's starter cord a few times to engage the pump and draw the pump saver fluid through the system. You will see the pink fluid exit the high-pressure outlet, indicating it has flushed out any remaining water and lubricated the internal components. Continue until the bottle is mostly empty or you see the solution coming out consistently. This process ensures the pump is protected from freezing, corrosion, and deposits during dormancy.
