What happens here

This video demonstrates a specific technique for installing white metal flashing as a foundational step for a soffit detail during exterior construction. The method, described as an alternative to traditional J-channel, involves securing 2x2 inch metal strips to the eave's underside. The white metal provides a clean, pre-finished look behind future PVC soffit panels, which will be layered to create a substantial trim detail. The presenter emphasizes proper overlapping of the metal sections for a seamless and durable installation.

we're going to be in a little bit of a rush we want to try to get the beam up all finished which will allow our roofers to install their metal roof beam so I'm working on prepping for our saet a nice little trick that I learned way back when with siding is you can buy past J channel I'm putting a piece of metal up it's about 2 in x 2 in and then our detail here is going to be 3/4 in PVC doubled up so that's about an inch and a half so once I put my sopit up and put those two layers of PVC you'll never be able the SE back there and the white metal allows for it to look white behind the sfet it's a nice clean finish metal make sure you have a good 3in overlap
