What happens here

This video explains a furniture painting technique using 2K catalyzed polyurethane. The presenter details how the first catalyzed coat of 2K poly acts as a self-sealing primer, effectively blocking dye migration and tannin bleed, thereby potentially eliminating the need for a separate primer. The second coat then serves as the final topcoat.

so I'm working on a piece of furniture today today uh this piece of furniture I just sprayed with Ben primer to prime it I guess ask all the time you'll see me painting furniture without doing a primer first because I'm using a 2K poly and I catalyze my 2k poly the 2K poly catalyzed axe is a self-seal product the product I use is a self-seal product and it actually blocks di migration and Cannon bleed if you catalyze the first coat and let it set 8 hours so my first coat it looks like a top coat but it is a primer coat my second coat is the finished coat of my 2k poly that I use
