time-consuming, but very worthwhile 💡
What happens here
Using a powerful rotary hammer drill equipped with a masonry drill bit of an appropriate diameter, carefully drill through the marked blocks to create channels for the low-voltage wiring. The hole size should be sufficient to allow the wire to pass through easily without stripping its insulation, typically 1/2 inch to 5/8 inch for landscape lighting wire. This drilling can be performed on individual blocks before they are laid, or carefully on blocks already integrated into the wall structure, as implied by the video where wires are being fished through existing block holes.
Goal: Create precise holes in blocks for wire routing.
