What happens here

This video details the installation process of a proprietary automated mosquito misting system by MosquitoNix and highlights the business opportunity it presents for solo entrepreneurs or existing landscaping/lawn care businesses. The system uses a natural solution of essential oils (cinnamon, peppermint, and thyme) to effectively deter pests like ticks and mosquitoes, while remaining safe for pollinators. The project showcases how the system's components, including misting lines, nozzles, and a control unit, are discreetly integrated into a property's landscape. The franchisee explains the low skill requirement for installation, the ease of bidding, and the lucrative recurring revenue model derived from maintenance plans.

Trouble just got loose. Trouble just got loose. Look at this. You see that? Look at that. Let's see if we can follow the breadcrumbs. What do you think you're doing over there? This is what happens when I don't bring her out for her morning cup of coffee and walk out in the sunshine. Today, you guys, there's something I do want to bring to you on a very serious note, an opportunity that I completely missed the first time around. This is a business that can make up to $6,000 per day for a solopreneur. But, here's the criteria, you guys. I wanted to analyze exactly what this could or couldn't do for you guys and if it was feasible for a beginner to even think about doing something like this. And what I mean is does it make money? Does it bring in residual income? How difficult is it to start this business? Does it require a ton of equipment? And I analyzed all of these separate objectives, and I'm going to break them down for you today, and this may be one of the absolute best business opportunities for a guy with almost no skills whatsoever. Hey, Chad, how old are you? >> 54. >> 54 years old. All right, so I'm telling these guys that a solopreneur can make up to $6,000 in a day doing what you're doing right now. >> Absolutely. >> And and you're with Mosquito Nix. >> I am with Mosquito Nix. I'm a franchisee. I'm the only franchisee here in the state of Minnesota. >> Right. And these guys, not only can you make $6,000 a day doing the install, but then every system that you install brings you in residual income as well. >> It does. Every month. What we have is a maintenance plan that covers all the maintenance on this system, takes care of any uh thing that goes wrong. We winterize it, we open it up during the summer. We uh we'll come out and give you an extra spray if you have an event or something like that that really talks about the outside of your property. We will uh give you a remote. It gives you uh access to do oak, this on on demand or uh three times a day every single day. >> Now, it's a proprietary system though, so this means that there's no competition because of the components that you guys have baked into this system can't be replicated, can't be duplicated, and can't be washed, rinsed, and repeated by somebody outside of what your system does. Is that correct? >> Absolutely. What sets us apart is our solution. That solution is proprietary to Mosquito Nix. You cannot get it anywhere else. And that makes us the only company in the country that can do what we do, such as spray out over water, or be safer uh kids, be safer pets, be safer pollinators. You don't have to go inside after we spray. The grandkids can come out and enjoy this space right now. >> Want to pull that out. Don't squish them. Keep them happy and healthy. So, I kind of feel like I screwed up, you guys. I showed you this system that we installed up at my cabin just to protect you from the Alpha-gal tick, which is on the uptick for 125,000 new cases just came out, plus Lyme's disease, plus Rocky Mountain fever, and all of these things. So, I put this video just to protect you. And you guys caught it, and you guys started to reach out to Chad directly about creating a business venture out of this thing. So, I looked into it more with Chad, and I broke everything down, and I was like, "Holy crap. I didn't realize how much profit could be made by becoming an installer of this system, and how easy it was." And this what I want to show you next is what really makes this system tick. It's this proprietary formula, and it's all natural, it's all organic, peppermint, cinnamon, and thyme. But watch what it does to this freaking tick, you guys. This is insane. >> I don't It don't like it. And that's exactly what it's supposed to do. It It gets infected with it and then it takes it back to its nest, if there is a nest, and starts to kill the all the other ticks in the in the nest. And it goes back to it. >> So, will this actually kill the tick? >> Yes. So, what it's done now is that tick can no longer breed. Just that quick contact, that tick can no longer breed and it can no longer consume water. >> So, it's knocking them down right now. >> So, it's immobilizing. >> So, just by coming in contact with it knocking them down. Easy. Well, that was 60 seconds. >> That was an insane speed. Best protection for your backyard. So, the main ingredients are cinnamon oil, peppermint oil, and thyme oil. And it's this combination of this proprietary solution plus the automated system that sprays three times a day, which is what makes this actually work together. Is that right? >> That's absolutely correct. So, peppermint oil, cinnamon oil, and thyme oil are the three ingredients. >> And that keeps away the ticks, the mosquitoes, that also is safe around pollinators, but it's going to keep away the biting flies, the biting mosquitoes. It's going to keep away all of the things you don't want crawling on your skin or landing on you and biting you. Absolutely. What we do is we take the bite out of your yard. Spiders, fleas, ticks, flies, horseflies, gnats. The no-see-ums bite like crazy. We get rid of them. We also get rid of the wasps, hornets, and yellow jackets. They will leave the area, will not stick around. But again, those pollinators, bumblebees, honeybees, butterflies, dragonflies, we have no effect on them. We want them to >> Have you seen a single wasp since we installed the system? >> No. >> Do we normally have about 15 to 20 wasps out there anytime that we're out there? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, I want to show you guys my wasp prevention techniques up until this point. We installed this system on Saturday. This is Tuesday. The neither the wife or I have seen a single wasp. And even though we have these things up everywhere, it still wasn't effective. Oh, we got ducks on the pond. Hi duckies. And this is what This is my pastime right here. I will sit out here and I will swat hornets and wasps all over the place. And I have not had to I haven't had to pick this up. I have We haven't had a single one since Saturday. And you see that light right there? We normally have them living in that light. Like I have to climb up on a ladder and spray that fricker and then half of the the wasp juice is dripping down into my own face, but it's what I got to do to keep the wasps and hornets off this place. There are It's like a magnet. These wood houses, if you guys have a wood house, you probably know, a wood house like this is nothing more than a hornet magnet. And there hasn't been a single one and not a single mosquito, either. Not a single freaking bug. I didn't think it was going to work this fast. I did not expect it to work like this. And here's kind of a bonus, too. So, if I'm having an event or people over and I want to activate the system, here's the app. I just do that. And look at it. It kicks on and it'll stay on for as long as I want it to. You can see it misting all the way around there. And when I'm done, boom. It's off. It's as simple as that. Big buttons. But I promised you we were going to talk about this as a business opportunity and I absolutely am going to break this thing down for you guys. >> Okay, so now you actually do installs in the Twin Cities area and this is like your area, so you have no competition for Mosquito Nix in this area. Is that correct? >> That is correct right now. We still have some franchises that are available here in the Twin Cities, but I'm the only operator in the state of Minnesota. >> And you have made it your goal to help other guys get their franchise up and running as well. So, whether they just want to do this, they can do it or they can actually add this into a service of an existing landscaping business and bring in that extra income. And if they're a lawn maintenance business, this is perfect for lawn maintenance guys, especially because they've got a large customer base, they know the layout of the yard and you guys will help them dial in this as an extra income opportunity. >> Absolutely. Whenever you look at this up this business line, what we do we accent to your landscapers, your lawn care lawn treatment companies. We absolutely accent to that completely. And I have people calling me all the time asking, "Can I become a franchisee from all over the country due to the videos that we've done in the past?" And I say, "Absolutely." >> Okay, okay, before we get too deep into this because we want to break this all down including the equipment because the skill level, I'm going to say this, Chad, and you can correct me if I'm wrong. The skill level to do what you're doing on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most difficult, and one being the easiest, to me is a two. This is a This is as simple and easy of work, not only the work is easy on the body, but the skill is not is not that in intrinsic that it takes a master class to figure this stuff out. >> That is absolutely right. So, I'm 54 years old, and I'm out here in the heat of the sun, and this is absolutely no problem. Barely even sweating. Uh I picked this up in uh about 2 weeks that I knew exactly what I was doing. This is very laid out very simple for you to do. Uh whenever you start uh working through it, you do one install, and you got it licked. You know exactly what's going on. >> Now, your equipment, can you walk over with me? Let's walk over and take a look at the equipment we've got here. So, this can be done by a single guy. Like I said, $6,000 in a day. But, if you have a team like he's got with Gabe, here's really basically all of the equipment you need. You've You've got to have a van if you want to become part of the franchise, right? >> Yes, sir. So, this van right here we purchased through the franchisor. We had it wrapped. That was all part of the purchase agreement. Put all the shelves in here. Uh and really what this becomes is a work van that, you know, it went from um it went from a U-Haul to me, and we installed these shelves, and now the work that we do in it it 90% of the work is actually outside, where you see right over here. >> So, really that's your main investment. That's your tool. So, like for me, you guys, I've got a skid loader there. I've got a loader. I've got an excavator. I've got three equipment trailers. I've got a fuel trailer. I've got all of this in all of this heavy equipment invested into it. They don't need to do that. They need to have a work van. >> A work van, and the work van you can purchase on you know, at your local location. But, that is the biggest investment I've made outside of the franchise of you know, purchasing in the franchise. >> Now, let's look at the tools, because even the The that you need to do the install are almost pretty basic. I mean, a tool belt, tool belt, power tools. You got to have a drill. This makes it easy to be putting in along the fence line. Uh we have uh a tool like this right here. This is for your trenching. So, all you do is you just push this into the ground, push it forward, you create a V, you set the line down in it, closes right back up, so you're only going down 6 in. The other equipment, we need screws, we need drivers, uh and you see zip ties. Uh we have an e-tool. If we can't use this right here to uh do any uh trenching, like say around a gate, uh something you just can't get into. So, these are all the tools we use. But, I want to go also cover the the bidding and estimating portion of it. Because what I what I do is the bidding and estimating is is difficult. I mean, that can make or break a guy, really. I mean, for for hardscaping, for excavating, for demolition, there's so many variables that go into these jobs that there really is a uh a high level of uh of intelligence required, plus experience to go into it, plus knowledge and foresight of your overhead and everything else. But, with you guys, I'm going to tell you right now, I look at the what you guys got to do as one of the simplest bidding and estimating things that you can possibly do for a business, because to me, maybe I'm wrong, you've just got to measure how many feet of line you're going to put in, and know exactly how many feet of line you're going to put in. You've got to have your main system installed that you go with. Measure how many feet of line, how many heads you're going to go, and that's it. It's just a matter of if you can run a tape measure, you can do the bidding and estimating. Is Am I wrong or right? >> correct. But, I'm not going to use a tape measure. I went old school, and I went took my out of my golf bag, I got my Callaway, uh and this is what we use the range. So, I can stand on this end of the fence line, and I can shoot a laser all the way down to the other end of your fence line, and that tells me exactly what our line our distance is here. When you get into similar area like this right here next to the car, that gets a little bit more intrinsic. You got to cuz you got a lot of shrubbery, you know, where we got to change our the nozzle placement so we have the maximum effectiveness for insects that would live in that area. >> It's the combination of the proprietary blend, the automated system because these guys, you guys you could go out and offer service where you just spray a yard, but that's not going to work. >> Right. >> Because a one-time spray is not going to be effective because what you've got to do is you've got to keep spraying daily three times a day and what that does is that creates the barrier that keeps the pests away. Is that correct? >> That is absolutely correct. What we do by spraying three times a day, we we continuously give a coverage. So after a rain, with most proprietary systems or most systems, not proprietary, I'm sorry. When the rain comes, it can help wash it away or it can degrade it where it doesn't last as long. And it might be another five or six days before they they come back to spray. We spray before the rain, during the rain, after the rain. And if you still don't feel like you're getting enough coverage, you have this right here. This is our remote. You every single owner gets this and all the residents of the home can log into this and you can turn it on or you can skip a spray if there's a time that you don't want it to spray. You have the power to spray at will in your fingertips. >> I'm telling you guys, I'm going to break this thing down for you because I want to also discuss all of the revenue opportunities with this thing. So, you get paid for the initial install, but then it creates reoccurring revenue. This is where the magic happens. Let's talk about that next and how it works. This doesn't just create a one-time income source because it's you get the benefit of the install as a contractor, but then you also have a maintenance program where you make this thing so it's a white glove service for the customers where they never have to touch it, but the benefit to the contractor is is the the system is so bulletproof that you're just on call 24/7. >> Absolutely. We When we get a phone call, we are there most times because we monitor the system electronically, we know if something's happened before you do. And And that is part of that maintenance plan. But we are out there often times within the next day to 2 days, and you're still within a window that you're not going to see an issue. So, we get out there before the issue becomes apparent, we fix it, and then we get out. Yes, it is white glove. We don't want you to do anything but come out and enjoy this beautiful outdoor space that you have. Go out to the sauna and enjoy it. Get around the koi pond, get in the hot tub, and not get bit, and not worry, "Did it go off? Is somebody taking care of it?" Because we are here to take care of it 24/7. >> What is an average typical monthly maintenance cost for a system like this to a customer? To a customer, what are they going to pay? >> On average, in 2025, the monthly maintenance plan was $125. >> $125 per month. So, consider that residual income to the contractor, and if he installs the system right, he's also he's on the hook to make sure that it's always good no matter for the life of the life of the the system, correct? >> That's correct. Anything nature-related, if a squirrel comes along and chews through one of these lines while it's chewing its nut or you know, the nuts early in the fall, then we come out and take care of that. If If the fence fell down and it ripped it apart for whatever reason, we would come out whenever we put the fence back up, and we would fix that for you. There'd be no charge for that. That's how we take care of our customers. >> So, there's a benefit to the contractor, there's a benefit to the customer who never has to worry about properly maintaining this thing again cuz it's not a To the customer, it's not a one-time install, they walk away, and then everything falls on them. You guys make sure that every single month where you every single day you're monitoring it to make sure that this thing is working the way that the customer expected it in the first place, but that's generating residual income to the contractor, so that there's it's a win-win for both the customer and the contractor simultaneously. The customer doesn't worry about anything and the contractor keeps making money every single month and if he's done his job the right way, it's really just a matter of opening it, closing it, then doing periodic inspections and maintenance to make sure all of the nozzles haven't calcified, closed up and everything is operating as the way it should be, but you can do that remotely for a portion of that. >> A good portion of that we can. We can tell if it's already kept if they're starting to calcify because we see a drop in the solution going down in the reservoir. You should see us Ideally, you would see us only when we come out to to refill the reservoir and often times we do that when you're not even home. You know that we're coming. We call you let you know, but when we do that, we will run a test run every single time we fill it and we check every single nozzle to make sure there's nothing wrong. >> Now, at the end of this video, we're going to show you guys exactly what this we're going to tell you what this system cost to install. I want to let these guys know and I want to show them what you did so these guys can go, all right, so that's what that kind of a system install would be. This is going to be an excellent video, you guys. Let's rock and roll. All right, so the time right now is 4:07 if I can see it. 4:08. You started around 9:00. >> Yep. >> You and Gabe and Gabe wasn't even here the whole day. >> Correct. >> So, a lot of it was you. You're done. >> Yep. >> Now, let's give these guys a tour of what a $9,000 install looks like. So, if we're taking keeping track of the time, it's a 7-hour day. I don't know how long Gabe was here, but I would say you you probably lost him for a couple hours. >> say at least 2 hours. >> So, you got 12 total man hours invested into this project at this point. >> Yep. >> Okay. And this is a $9,000 install and we're going to show these guys verbatim what this looks like. Let's give them a tour. >> Yep. >> So, let's start right here and then let's go all the way around. So, now you have this this deck completely covered. So, the main living zone is covered for whoever is is staying here, right? >> Exactly. What we're going to do with this deck, that allows you to be outside at 5 6 7 8 9 without the worry of the insects. So, go ahead. >> And so, we've got it here. And you know, you keep talking…
