What happens here
Identify various native and naturalized tree species in the forest. Using the smartphone app again, the presenter identifies an American Beech tree (by its slick bark and leaf shape), a Red Maple, a Sourwood tree (known as Lily of the Valley, with a distinct sour taste in its leaves, historically used as a water source), a Black Locust (puts out fragrant flowers that bees love), and different types of Oaks (Red Oak by pointy leaves, White Oak by rounded leaves).
Goal: Identify common forest trees and learn about their ecological benefits.
