What happens here

For additional leverage when the drain stopper is particularly tight, insert the shaft of a screwdriver (such as the Phillips head screwdriver from step 1) through the horizontal slot or hole located in the body of the plumbing dumbbell wrench. This transforms the wrench into a T-handle, providing a wider grip and increased torque. With the screwdriver in place, firmly turn the entire assembly counter-clockwise until the drain stopper loosens and can be fully removed from the drain opening.

Goal: To gain additional leverage for a stubborn drain stopper, insert a screwdriver through the plumbing dumbbell wrench, creating a T-handle, then turn counter-clockwise to remove the stopper.
