hey what's up everybody see if anybody jumps on here well I'm locked in my house probably like a lot of you so I'm gonna give away some stuff again today so every day we're just gonna be just giving wearing and so I talked about the Thrive pants I did a video about the pants I wear the shirts and the shoes I wear and just talked a little bit about them and to give you more information about our is there's always you can get in the video you can get in the picture there's always things you can do to work I mean I think that's where we want people to start thinking about what are some things that they want to improve their business and now's the time with all the online learning I mean if you want to learn how to do your your books better like if you want to become a better book sprout you know there's things you can do to learn free learning classes you know if you want to do better at marketing Chris has a lot of videos there's a lot of videos out there and how to market your business and I think we really want to encourage everybody to engage and paint like members community and share ideas if you're doing something and it's it's helping you and setting you up for success you know doing trades doing barters you may be a business that's closed if you're just a single person if you could go in and paint it and then when they have money in our back opened they can pay you back or work out some sort of deal but we want to share ideas and we want to be there to help each other what the governor when the governor tells me I can't go out and I can't work I protest and I don't shave I don't eat for a while okay just lazy has nothing to do here we go so I'm gonna give away Lisa you're gonna have to how are you gonna give away stuff I mean the feeds like people are cruising by I'm dude my Graco Ultramax won't spray water when trying to clean it out what's up is the pump gone and there could be all kinds it I mean it doesn't stray water and that's not a good sign so it may just need to be repacked so need more symptoms of what's going on maybe you can send us a video you can DM us a video of what it looks like what's going on but there's a lot of things you know that caused pumps not to spray something could be stuck in going I don't know somebody just sent something right there so in hi mark in the middle of this mark well I'm living in strange times system it's me a lot so the PSCR is amazing if you don't have a PSD or for painting cabinets it's a $450 system where you spray your cabinet doors hanging up it's a must-have if you're in the cabinet painting business so it's gonna save you a whole lot of time and a whole lot of money but um we're gonna be given away so I got an email today from the creator of this device and this is saver so right here it goes inside of a gallon bucket so you can store your tips so you don't have to reach down and put your hands in paint thinner or lacquer thinner or something like that it organizes your tips now you don't have to search and find them it's a plastic that's completely resistant to chemicals like lacquer thinner and stuff like that it has a slot that you can organize put your your filters your gun filters down in there all those so it's a pretty cool device they emailed me today they said whenever you go live we want to give one away tip saber said give us their address and we see the tape better did you talk about why like the how you supposed to take better now I use the tape cutter I so the tape cutter I got so I got sent these things and as soon as I open it up I figured it out right off the bat that this thing would be pretty cool so and why I think it would be pretty cool is for tearing corners when you're doing a lot of what we just got a some one I don't even know what they call cuz we don't do it but what the heck whoa where'd my feet go where'd your video there goes the super chat so whoa whoa hang on let me figure out if I need to to coat a primer for one bedroom walls so that's it um that's a good question so that's Starman so know you 99.9% chance you're not going to have the to code a primer on a bedroom wall in 99.9% chance you're not gonna need a primer if the walls are painted and they're in sound condition there's absolutely no reason to mean the primary primers are like a bare drywall there's if it's better drywall it needs to be sealed with a PVA primer bare wood if the walls have contaminants on it that they should be cleaned and then primed but you'll our walls right here have been painted multiple times you're gonna go on a home depot and the person behind the paint desk is gonna sell your primer until you'd need to prime the walls in it's absolute nonsense it's just simply not true it doesn't need to happen and there's no it's called it's not nice it's called upselling it's just it's strictly top selling there's people behind the counter they have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to painting you do not need to put a primer on these walls now what if you have a high gloss walls now a high gloss wall you're gonna have to create some type of profile like sanding the walls or priming the walls to create some type of bite so your paint can actually stick to the walls in here - the walls properly but if it's on bare drywall you don't need two coats of PVA primary one coat of PVA primer and then you can you really would have to to coat your walls I'm bare drywall to get you know the scene to hold out properly so so Starman he did a super shot which I haven't seen this in so many years it's crazy screeching super top because we don't even get on Instagram or YouTube anymore we don't do lives what's that I do where do we work where do we go live now we go live on Facebook page address and it sounds like you're doing a project and I will send you a tape cutter and a roll of frog tape I'm in the process of sanding trim this is from Melinda and I have sanded they still seem glossy should I use a DES Glosser I'm planning on using a primer before I paint so if you're planning on priming Melinda you definitely you don't need to use a DES Glosser so if you're sanding and creating a profile you know if you look at it and you're in basically we're doing just creating a profile at to get your paint to bond if you're priming you don't necessarily have to sand if you're using a good bonding primer it's obviously you know I'm gonna just add you know a better bite and a better bond if you sand and then Prime but a deep loss sure is really in lieu or instead of doing a primer weave we would practiced ourselves as professional painters declaw seeing our trim not even standing and glossing it with a degausser and then painting right over it with a good-quality trim paint and we had a lot of success doing that for years and years and years but you would have to have like a really good quality trim paint like Sherwin Williams in a mold your thing but it's really really well or even PPG breakthrough is one that bonds really well that you wouldn't actually need to sand with so a lot of people asking about primers yeah what's a good primer for or paneling and what's you know good brand so you prefer to spray interior doors or Rolla we never roll doors we always spray our trim and doors so for like wood paneling primary would they recommend so what panics I mean I saw here like Zinser cover stain makes a good wood panelling primer that's a good one I mean Sherwin Williams makes and all bits just called the all-purpose primer that's a pretty good primer to put on wood paneling so well but with the wood date it all depends on the wood paneling isn't with pending coated with like I'm an actor so you're not going to get in a tanning bleed-through or is it bare wood wood paneling that you might get some tannins through so then you wanted like a combination like yeah more in bling cover stain is an oil-based stain blocking primers and there makes it great primer great products so david has a good question he said do you stain or paint an old deck with layers of paint that don't come off so stay there you know do you stain or paint an old deck with layers of paint that don't come off so do we have one of those so we have a dick so this is it's going we don't paint decks and you should never paint a deck I mean he might be just using the term generically you stain a deck with solid color stains so paints aren't meant to be on like horizontal flat surfaces that get standing water that gets snow on it and paints aren't meant to be scuff resistant so there's there's floor products there's deck products like deck products are Scott freezes that can just take standing water and snow and some like that so we use solid color stains for decks and or semi transparent transparence and the solid color stains like if you're painting a deck you're really you should be using a solid color stain and there's self priming this is where so honey is true it does it's bare wood you would use a solid color stain no primer stains absorb into the wood and they do not create a film a layer over the top of the woodland paint does which layer or the top of the wood will peel in a stain absorbs into the wood if you apply it properly and it's not gonna peel what if you already have paint did you talk about it's already coated even if it was I would not go over the pain I would go over the top of it with a solid color stain and I would use that I've used deck scapes for years a great product absolutely love it the Benjamin Moore makes some really great solid color stains there's also if it's got multiple layers of paint that's peeling chipping stuff like that there's these DEP coatings like scapes make some deck and dock which is a really thick of last Americo Dena will help smooth and feather some of that ow and it's really great for that you know we have a lot of great questions or no cop cabinet door panels you know that's that's a very good question so I'll tell you what I've I taught and and always was an advocate for caulking your your panels and stuff and and then but I also it's very this is um this is a good subject to talk about right now because I've actually completely done a 180 when it comes to recommending whether cabinets should be coughed or not and so I've had the opportunity to use my house is like an experiment ground for a lot of different things in cabinet painting and just one of them if you caulk a panel and what it is just like a floating panel that panel if you go down into some climates like Florida and South where you get a lot of moisture and air expansion and contraction it's probably highly recommended not to caulk those panels because they could move in the coffin you could have some cracking with that caulking now we live in a very dry climate and and what I was seeing over the years was not an issue with them but I have my cabinets here they've been sprayed with lacquer you know multiple times and they were caught the panel's were cocked and I've been watching them over the last I think three or four years and they've started to crack they've started to crack along they say it's about five or six years but I didn't I was up okay five or six years ya know now and I've seen a little hairline cracks around the caulking so I didn't notice me I would never I would never call him again because even if it was four or five years later if this was a customer's cabinets and they would call him if they called me I would feel responsible to have to fix that and repair that I wouldn't fix and repair for free so in here we live in a very dry climate where there's no like not a lot of expansion and contraction but videos I think part of the problem is is when
