other people to have live shows okay it's only our live show it's the only show that we're gonna do live yeah do because we were gonna try to do this whole thing on YouTube live on Thursdays but oh my gosh it's the middle of the day and we do have to we have a job we do he has to take I have to paint and make a living or earn a living yes so I can't always be in here doing videos and what I really cases of this stuff so this was kind of interesting um Alex Vause they don't they don't sell it at the paint store that I go to so I've never tried it before and on they sent me a whole bunch of it to test out and try so um we like it when people send us down so it's cool we like to try new products in test new products out and and show you guys new products what's out there what exists and we can't possibly I'm trying everything and know everything and know everything about everything and so it's kind of cool DAP there in one of the big big huge box stores that we live here that's they sell DAP and all their products tap and hallux so I think DAP is like maybe the big company with all these like Alex uh stuff underneath it so they sent me a huge case of this and we're gonna give away a case tonight we're gonna give away a case of the DAP Alex Plus spackling and if you're a do it yourself or a case is like he'll last you the rest of your life and you can share share to your neighbors if you're professional it's probably gonna last you several years so kind of interesting they said they're gonna send a case of the the court stop this I don't think this is a court this is 16 fluid ounces if anybody I think a court is 32 fluid ounces so you're gonna end up getting a case of this stuff and I think we're doing some reading on it cuz I'm Dave Evans said I've used a couple times for reoccurring stress cracks and I think one of them those is four that's what it was created for it was so what we you know because I've never used it before we have a lot of reading and I'm looking up the the MSDS and all that stuff about it and stuff and it's that's what it was designed for is reoccurring cracks so yeah and I just used it briefly just one day just on a few holes here and there and so I mean I don't have your really any professional experience with it so alright this neck so I don't know um somebody got a gooseneck done they also eat Oh Donna the creator of the gooseneck I'll talk about that in just a minute um they send me cases of this um it's not exterior season so I haven't been able to try it but it says it's premium molding and trim sealant so I guess this is probably this doesn't say whether it's interior or exterior says crap proof let me cuz so I bet use it on outside because it isn't there's no outside painting but they send me a call it's too cold so I used a couple tubes we were doing some we'll be in it this week so look for our social media because you re testing it out in frightening ideal 4:30 paint in 30 minutes so that's a that's a really good characteristic you paint that it's a 60 year caulk so this is probably this is like a higher in caulking right here this is the how it's Plex won't shine through paint waterproof easy water cleanup low odor into your next year so this is an Internet to your product so we will be test ball about this week because we don't be building exteriors on yours so yeah so but they sent me another case of this stuff and this is unfortunately oh my gosh for something that needs a back surgery so they they send me up a cold case of this and we're giving away two cases tonight and I'm gonna give away one case here pretty quick yeah but uh sorry this is if you're gonna do it yourselfer and you just have you know you're on the show and you just do some painting around and you're just learning from us this will probably last you the rest of your life and it's kind of interesting because I've never seen a case of coffee in this big before so this is the Alex plus forty year copying so the Alex plus forty year on paint in 30 minutes and I've never yeah that's interesting because I've we've only used a couple Caulkins that dry that fast so that means you know I really like that so it actually shrinks less for durable CEO easy water cleanup low odor interior exterior excellent flexibility we're gonna do so let's just do a giveaway right now okay so one of these yeah one of these company in 2002 and so the first person that guessed it is Jenny - Jenny Teutons so with that we our purpose of being here is to educate empower and equip and with that you know we really want to get better at our skill and so that we can provide a living for our family and in turn we want to be a blessing to our community and so we believe painters care and jenny has just lost a dear friend and we posted on facebook page what's our Facebook page the Idaho painter the Idaho painter go there and we reposted a story yesterday of her trying to raise money for the burial so we believe painters care we care please if you can I know it's January and it's a hard time I'm tired time of year it is for us financially so you just came out of Christmas and we're not working as much but we're doing really good because we're still here yeah so yeah there was some unfortunate circumstances the we can't you know help pay for the the funeral costs and stuff so if you go to my facebook page the Idaho painter I shared you know the story and a link to it where you can go and read about what's going on and you know with this fellow painter and their family so and how you can help you know help them out so there you got there you go so what's our show about tonight it's about you talk I'm so excited it's about organizing your office so Lisa's gonna talk about and I'm gonna talk about it too because I do um I do work in the office to I got some some things that we came up with and stuff and organizing things and some of the things we do that you might want to do incorporate it into your business like you know of forms for you know colors and things like that big questionnaire forms and filing them and stuff like that because if a customer calls you up two years later and says what color you know did you paint my bedroom because I need to get some more or they want to use that same color in another room you know are you able to tell them and you should be able to tell that so that's something that Chris started being campaigning and he started by you know getting all the systems in place and then when I saw that he needed help I joined you and started helping so you did bring the systems to me and technology is our friend just like it's our friend for marketing the business you know and we've talked about different ways that you can market your business free I'm using different services online and so we pay for these services but we want to hear from you what do you use to keep your office organized you know is there any we use QuickBooks I'll just say that right now we use QuickBooks - I mean QuickBooks is my brain so anything happened to QuickBooks we'd be in trouble so we would be but QuickBooks is a great accounting software I had an accountant recommend it to me and so we use that to create our estimates you know and like Chris was saying we keep a paper copy of customers colors but I could even put that in QuickBooks and that would be a really smart thing to do so um you said QuickBooks is your brain so if they like if they did an autopsy you know when you find a little quick book in there this is the thing is when you do your taxes they'll say to file this form it takes two or three hours and they kind of break it down for you but I just an put everything in QuickBooks and they print up the forms and so I'm completely trusting them you know to do everything right because if they don't do right so here's something else I'm Colchis tonight is on it just so happens that the topic is on you know office organization and I decided to that I was gonna do interviews and we're gonna start an interview series and so um I decided meaning my first interview and because I got to work on my interview skills was gonna be interviewing Lisa so what I want to do is the interview of the we're gonna interview John and I'm going to interview you all interview Mike McKenna so you guys can kind of you know so you guys might come you know get a feel for who we are I mean some of you don't know like you know what makes us tick and stuff besides you know what we do for a living so I think it'll be kind of cool so people can get a glimpse of what makes paint wife Lisa okay that's because of you guys that came up with that name Andrew because of you was that Andrew psyche thank you so much Andrew Sachs to helpfully because I have to support the mailing of swag papers I don't know how much do we spend mailing something I don't know I just it's it's a lot so um real fast somebody we talked about doing sticker swaps and if what to do for fun there tell us who to face with and where to fish mm-hmm or if there's something else to do other than fishing maybe the fishings no good maybe it's really good we don't know but where are you gonna be um you asking me yes oh we're gonna be Oh at a booth we're gonna be in the Graco booth so on and the expo the PDCA expo so it's um they got like three days classes and stuff I'm going there to take some classes to learn how to paint and learn how to run a business and then I'm gonna be in the grey cup booth there's a four-hour pro show where you either have all the booths and Miller says costs for QuickBooks so QuickBooks has different different prices you know and so like if you don't do payroll it's cheaper if you do payroll for certain a number of people then it's more expensive so we use it you know the full system with payroll and I don't know it's like seven eight hundred dollars a year but it really is worth it it really is the time I probably spent so much more time than that and I make mistakes so yeah yeah so on Galveston is for shrimping so yeah tell us if there's something to do in Galveston and then tell us I've seen a lot of people use QuickBooks and so if you use a different system that works for you share that with us because you know we're open in to trying different programs like I mean how small like does the hook have to be the catch shrimp and if there's shrimp art isn't shrimp small oh like if your shrimp I mean how do you reel in this shrimp I don't know just like cast down just like reel it in I don't know so um what else are we different options and I think QuickBooks Online is a lot cheaper than the system I use but we use where we could be on different computers and a mobile site and so you know look into it so paint why if you were um you were born where were you born what the heck we're doing an interview right now are we born I'm just curious I'm in the small city you may have never heard of it before Los Angeles so you were born in LA so you're I mean now we live here in beautiful Boise Idaho yeah then I'm married to the Idaho painter and you knit so that makes you miss Idaho painter and so yeah so you were born in LA and what you grew up in Southern California I did where's your high school I went to two different high schools I went to my high school I don't know where that is and then I went to him in high school where you gradually different yeah I think we went to the same high school we did who'd you take to the problem I took you to my senior from oh that's interesting you need to work better on your interview skills here how what's wrong with that you don't think that's a good interview so uh um you have how many children yeah good but I want it real fast I'm Bobby says he paid $80 that's kids do you have I have three three boys girls hmm three girls and we survived a week with our baby away at college uh-huh she's turning 18 on Wednesday and we were gonna go up and see her but we realized we need to let her just to college and not be up there and so we're not going to for her birthday so I'm gonna miss her first birthday look at that Andrews love a sec says she wasn't born she fell for that cute child in that oh oh commercial break commercial break it is winter time it is time and I know Chris has been advertising his blue paint life but we wanted to let you know we'd have totally catching me off guard my hobby is looking at you wow I'm impressed you just came up with that I was looking at you it's just gazing into your eyes I think you know some hobbies in okay why are like what is a hobby oh I mean you're the ha you're the king of hobbies what are you doing here spare time um what do i do on my spare time hmm what I like I like I like to exercise with my friends my good friend Laurel she doesn't watch this show but she's having surgery tomorrow so I have had to learn that I exercise on my own so I am now doing exercising on my loan for six weeks and I'm doing a video down in my basement so I did it today so I'm really excited about that yeah well that's kind of cool yeah I like bike riding you do I like going to coffee with friends what kind of bike you have I guess it's a bike that has a pop tire of a Yeti I have a Yeti yeah and Armando just popped the tire so you went to school you went to high school you went to college you graduated college didn't you I did where'd you go to college I went to Cal Poly Pomona and so did you we graduated together you graduated college together we didn't go to each other's graduations cuz we were graduating at two different places Oh Susan's here Susan so what you do when you graduated in college save ask questions you got a job mmm I did get a job what would you do you were like I got a job being a teacher yep and you were an absolutely an amazing teacher well for one year and then are you did an amazing job in our our little bundle of joy Brooke showed up showed up and got thrown My heavens that's when we
