yesterday and I fried my eyes and now he did I blinded from them I looked up at the Sun no you did not it burned a hole not but he did not I am the one who made you put your glasses on no I'm wearing I'm wearing my my DeWall glasses now as I injured my heart no you did not not these are called um what are they there are we sponsored better no we're not these are so Richard from DFW crowd game apparently anyways where he always wears these things and and so I thought they're kind of cool he told me I asked them what they were I went on eBay and how many did you buy I bought ten pairs of them on eBay these things are only $5 in my guys like I didn't know if they're gonna be yo cool or not and stuff and I put them on and they I absolutely love these things they're do all safety glasses so can you buy them on your website um yeah that's put on my tolstoi because I totally love them I'm gonna I'll put them on my toast or these things are awesome they were for 97 on eBay mom so 50 bucks you put them on your tool store so I gave them told my guys to every exam so they have safety glasses so no I didn't burn my eyes so what'd you think about the clips I was really really cool if on Facebook here we got people popping on Instagram live and right here YouTube a lot me so we got getting up to 100 people popping on now so tonight's topic Oh spare problems and repairs paints winter problems and repairs we've got a lot of experience fixing and repairing sprayers out in the field and I've got years and years of experience with it and John we got John back here he's gonna be popping up here and answering questions he's got a lot of experience fixing and repairing airless spray nurse and HVLP sprayer so there's probably a little bit of maintenance with these sprayers yes that will make them last longer there is there's maintenance you definitely want to do so we're gonna talk about maintaining your airless prayers and how you go about fixing them if you have any questions you can pop on you know and ask your questions down here in our live feed on YouTube I don't know if John will be able to answer them if he's fast enough you can answer him on Facebook and so what I was going to say I see a lot of people that are usually with us on Monday night and thank you for being with us Tuesday night oh so wise so the reason why you were on here it's a good question that we're all she brought up the reason why we're here Tuesday night we took off to watch the Eclipse up and Donnelly which was one of the best places in the whole United States to watch the Eclipse because it wasn't 100% it was it was a full Eclipse and so we went up there and we just so happened have a cabin up in that area and so we watched it from the lake where our cabins at and we decided to just drive back home to put on the live show and my daughter's took off you know before us and to relay information back about the traffic and you it takes an hour and 45 minutes to get down and it took them five and a half hours to get home and so we started traveling and they relayed us that they've been in a dead stop and traffic for a half hour didn't even move and we did some calculations and there was no way we're gonna make it back for the live show so it had been canceled unfortunately so we decided to just do it tonight and real fast before we go on the topic did you catch an eclipse fish cuz you were fishing at the same time I was fishing a few gee I'm you can see our Instagram where I was fishing and I did not catch an eclipse did not know I think maybe you know they like barometric pressure and they rotation of the moon I think they knew something was up and that's why they weren't biting yeah we got some big delegates are people on Facebook right here you problems repairs what are some easy maintenance things you can do to make them last longer so yeah we'll get on the we'll get on the topic of you know paint sprayer problems and repairs and stuff so you know one of the most most common things that we run into out in the field is the the airless sprayer not priming and I mean I get a lot of questions you know on my youtube channel in in emails and stuff it's not priming and what are the problems and there's there's a lot of different solutions or troubleshooting things that you can do to resolve that and but one of the the most common things when a airless sprayer won't prime won't have any paint come out of the gun is some type of debris has gone up and there's gonna be these balls that are dependent on the size spare these steel balls that move and debris is gonna get up in there and I've seen a blade of grass get in there I've seen you know paint film get in there I've seen a leak I've seen rocks and get in there and it obstructs that ball and if that ball can fall back down and see then the unit can't prime and it's really simple and easy to resolve and one of the one of the things that we used to do when I was beginning in the painting industry and I learned it from some new construction guys which you never ever want to - we would just take a hammer and just smack that hole lower in and sometimes it would like free that debris and let it go up and how does we just start smacking it too hard and it was denting that whole thing up and and said yeah sometimes it would work but the majority times it wouldn't work and all you're gonna do is just be damaging the face of that and you could do it some internal damage to it so I got away from doing that whole hammer thing and it's really simple to take that lower in just one not the whole I'm suction tube will come off you can tilt the sprayer back and you just look up inside there and it's interesting how many times you'll that'll be just a quick fix you're gonna find a blade of grass but most often is paint film and the suction tube are suction tubes you're gonna see the ones that are the lowboys they have kind of this they arch and go up into the paint like the titan 440s do that and they'll go and they and it just has this like this you shaped like like a trap like I know like a peach trap down there and paint the no matter how much you clean the pret sprayer there's always a certain amount of the residue or paint suspended in the water that eventually starts building up on that that bottom section eventually it like releases and it starts to go hopping to that lower end and the paint film will get caught up down it happens all the time it's very common and then you just take where this it comes up the suction tube comes up into the lower end there's and it should be just hand tight you just you undo it on a great go 695 on a titan 440 there's a little wire you pinch this wire and it's like a retaining spring and then the lower that suction tube would just actually pull out you only have to unscrew and knock and then you just tilt it back look been there and we use like a little tiny pair of needle-nosed to pull it out or we got little screwdrivers and we'll pull it out but I just we just happen to us and you got a video on how we went about on the field repairing that exact situation when we're up in cameras man that was only like a couple weeks ago I posted that video so um how did you learn how how to do that did somebody teach you did you I mean how do you just it was all trial and error he was just out in the field and when you only have one pump and you can't afford to just run it into Sherwin Williams they're authorized dealer to fix it we just had to figure it out you know on our own how the field so and just in back then and when I was learning there was no YouTube to really go to to learn how to do it on YouTube it was just a matter of just start pulling it apart and figure it out and just remember how I had it cut it apart and then I would ask questions there was a sure win whose manager that was really really good at repairing bumps I called him up and asked him and he would give me some tips and pointers and you know and then I I spent a lot of time and now in the Graco repaired portion of share of Williams that certified talking certified Center and talking to them and learning you know new things and new techniques how to fix them and troubleshooting them and so I guess I've learned quite a bit that way boys what how do you complete your job so if yeah you don't have a sprayer and it's in the repair shop you're doing painting yep yeah you got it huge yes it's one of those things your sprayer is what makes you money so you got to be able to fix them out in the field and and that was the whole thing with the the solution if you're using a regular high boy the spray it just goes straight into the five-gallon bucket you don't usually run into that paint film situation where paint film is coming off that trap portion and getting sucked up into there but all your smaller pumps like your great go 395 your tighten for 40s but we are our our great go 6 95 s we have on where they're low voice 2 and one's had that problem it's a very common from no matter how and we clean them very where they're very well and one thing that we do is running antifreeze into them you know that go got Richards oh thank you so much I should very much Richard II and your family are doing great i Richard called me up and had some questions about spray tips and knock off upbeat tips and help him out and he's like you know yeah I used to like him a lot so those are a couple P tips are amazing we just gave away a bunch or than a whole bunch of other life you have to use them with you with their the handheld spares or a lot of people are trying to use the regular tips with handheld sprayers you have to use the FFL B tips or you can have a bunch of problems and a lot of people don't know that so so using the right tip so if the right sprayer can save you a lot of party yep it sure can so it's um do we have any announcements do you have any information about like way way less than one in ten thousand because once I what I do is like with the gun I once it's the day how I selected is I posted a picture of this gun and then I asked people to leave a comment about why they wanted it and the gun itself and only 45 comments were made on the gun and so it was one in 45 was the chances of winning the gun and then all you got to do is leave a comment to you know grab my attention and you'll be the winner so that's what happens when I get close to 10,000 that week when we're gonna give it away the airless or the spray gun I'll be posting a picture of it and then asking me to asking you to leave a comment why and it's amazing how many people out of 10,000 and when people won't even you know respond to it won't even see it so you have good chances I would say you're probably at about a one in a hundred chance of winning it because I probably won't even get a hundred comments on that but yeah yeah so um like when you take it to the shop you know so in case you can't fix it and you have to take it to the repair shop how long do they usually have it um where we are your sprayers probably be in the shop for at least two weeks so unfortunately we have probably at least I would say 15 spares or so how many spares we have John by 15 or more yeah we got about 15 more spares so we have one go bad this went after this winter I think we within a Richards so how about costs for fixing a sprayer like oh it seems there is they you just take in the sprayer and they're gonna put it and then they're gonna call you up with an estimate after they you know check it out and see how much it costs and sometimes some of the spreaders are not even worth fixing you just have to because you can buy a new sprayer for the amount that's sometimes but we'll
