What happens here

The demonstration moves to the active use of chains for load securement. A heavy-duty chain, already attached to a small vehicle acting as a load, is pulled across the trailer bed. From a separate compartment, a chain binder (also known as a load binder) is retrieved. The loose end of the chain is then hooked into the binder, which is used to apply tension and securely fasten the load to the trailer.

Goal: Effectively secure a vehicle or equipment onto the trailer.

Tools and materials

  • Chain binder — Applying tension to secure the load
  • Heavy-duty chain — Tying down the load
  • Small vehicle — Serving as the load to be secured
  • Trailer deck — The surface on which the load is secured
