What happens here

This project details the process of installing a Sno-Power snow plow onto a Ram 2500 pickup truck, including mounting the undercarriage, connecting the wiring harness, and performing initial setup and adjustments. The video highlights the unique features of the Sno-Power plow, such as its independent wing control and self-leveling capabilities, and contrasts it with traditional plows requiring separate headlight wiring. It also demonstrates the plow's performance in challenging hard-packed snow and ice conditions.

only buckets what the heck is that big thing going [Music] on I love that I love this [Music] controller okay now that's a new one to me [Music] this this is it iron Valley Equipment holy buckets what the heck is that big thing going on all right guys that's that Pusher is not the reason we're here we're actually going to be we're at iron Valley Equipment and we're going to be installing a new snow plow but I was told that this is a selfinstall snowplow so now this is a completely self installed a average guy should be able to install this plow himself is what I've been told by Rick and this is your shop so we're going to actually going to walk through this with one of your guys correct that's a pro so that if these guys want to try to install it themselves they're not they're not frustrated and and struggling correct especially if they have a boss mount on their truck already Okay so let's talk about that real quick right now this is lined up to go onto a boss snowplow Mount truck side mount truck side mount but he's Rick has designs and the works for it to go on a western next Fisher and then potentially he's looking at other snowx snowx and then you know probably maybe eventually he'll be able to retrofit it onto a heiner off front mount but that's got to come off yep for us that'll be coming off as soon as they finish the project are around they're jumping over here what has to go on here is the boss Mount and then the uh snow power wiring okay guys so this is a pure poly fuel tank Yep this is the from endur plaz and this is their 100g tank so this is a self-contained unit that goes this can fit right where the truck toolbox would go you slam it down you can put a pad lock there lift it up and then everything is Right contained so this is weatherized protected from the elements that's a that's pretty nice so it's all includes the dispenser includes the pump includes everything and it's a a what is this called again what the heck is this enduraplas endur fuel boss endur URL fuel boss and they're what 1150 you said Chad yeah but that's an expensive fuel tank though add up a right next to it you add up the weather guard and the pump next to it what's that that up too so here's your standard fuel tank right here that's a 75 gon this is 100 gallon with the fuel pump you're this is actually a cheaper setup then isn't it okay so we're on a Chevy 3500 and Bryson's one of the guys Bryson and Rick made built these snow powers but I'm looking at this what are these bolts for so those are for adjustment so anytime you say you got this truck here which is$ 35 UND say you put a Salter in the back you're going to change your geometry of the truck you're going to start lifting the front of the truck up yeah so now you got to adjust the plow like you would with a Fisher or a western to meet the pavement where boss has all the adjustment on the truck side hitch well we did it on the plow and the truck side hitch so we utilize the boss P frame so that's our adjustment for height off the ground so it gets our um transition plate and our truck mount level so when we're plowing it's you don't want it at an angle you want it as level as possible so it's less resistance mhm so now when you have these holes here is how you adjust the T angle of attack when you're plowing so it gets your blade perfectly level on the ground so you get the best cut so I'm looking at this and I go what's that for and all of you guys are going well it's a plow shoe dum dum no it's not plow shoe it's not so when you got the plow where you got the wings back and you're trying to take the the plow off the truck almost got me saying it out plow to you we call them Kit stands so it keeps the wings up so you can pull in and out and let's go see your wiring harness okay what is this one now so that connects to your uh battery side on your breaker and then this connects to your uh line side on your breaker there's your power and this connects to your negative on your battery then right to your bumper that's it that's it that's it so that's what happens when we go in and we eat lunch they already got the wiring done okay so here's the heavy power here's the wiring that's legitimately ran right down right up and through mhm it comes right to here and here's power positive here's your jumper yep to to our battery right there here's our reset button exactly right okay so we got a reset here our negative is hooked up to the negative terminal on the uh battery on the battery and then we got to go through the firewall oh you you can follow Philly you already went through the firewall yeah I followed the same hole that but I used yeah okay so we went right straight through the firewall right into there yeah it's already plugged in your controller is already in plugged in everything that is a really easy here runs out right here controller's right there and that's it that's it that's the wiring yeah that's it if you can hook a positive up and a negative up and fish a wire through the firewall without burning it on your manifold yep you're good to go exactly okay there's something that I really want to point out to you guys now before we could install the new F12 we had to remove the heincker plow and the higher plow like all sow plows out there is wired in to your headlights but the F12 does not wire into your existing headlights and the reason it doesn't wire in is because it doesn't block your headlights you can use your headlights it does come with its own light bar which is like looking straight into the [Music] side let's go take a look so if you guys have to Mount Your Own Boss under Carriage well you guys will have to do that on your own but I'll show you exactly what they've done so far we've got this entire boss under Carriage all wrapped up two bolts left to drill I think there's just two I think there's just two left to drill do you guys know uh yeah there's one on the driver's side and the passenger side on the FR these are the hard ones right Rick that's correct so drill so you have to those are the only two spots where you have to drill through the frame to mount the boss iron onto it so are we hooking it up now yep I'm just put the power and ground to it so that way we can try and get the back end to lift up into your Mount these pins just pull out and twist they lock out look at that down more all right so we put the kick stands down which holds the side wings up which allows us to get it at the right angle so that we can drive right into it so this is the first hookup of it I wish I could see which way this pin is in is yeah this side is locked in I mean as as far as I can see God we are so close so it's simply hooks in with one two pins Phil what was the problem what were we running into a little bit of powder coat was too thick on it just the first initial hookup that powder coat on the framing was in the way the powder coat on the plow that was it so now we want to go we're in transport mode now we want to plow we just hit the plow button and we're good to go hit po it fold right down and now we're in plow mode y now we can go down how about adjusting it do we got to do any adjusting to make sure we we're all level is this is this where you basically adjust it at at this point right here to make sure all the wings adjustments are already good if you look if you look here there's no not really much of a gap and that's what you want cuz as this wear is back here it'll level itself out so we have 6 in of wear here 3 in of wear in the front is my understanding if I'm I was talking to Rick these blades are designed to actually wear like that to wear into level but they should be set pretty pretty close pretty close right out of the gate and all your adjustments are right here on that's all these two cylinders [Music] the road test is we're going to be checking our temperature gauge as we're going down the road at 55 60 M an hour and we're going to be actually monitoring it yes I will put my seat Bel on in a moment we're actually going to be monitoring it the actual temperature of the transmission coolant right right now is 212 you can see it right there okay now that's a new one to me the temperature is actually going down since I've left I started at 212 and I'm now down to 197 cooling temperature so here's my two cents on just how it handles and performs in the truck for a big plow this is legitimately the biggest front plow that's ever been on this truck it's a 12T front plow the next biggest plow is like a 9 ft2 V plow and this plow this 12T weighs about the same as my 9t 2 V handles like nobody's problem anything normal so we are at this abandoned mall and we are going to be giving this place a once over but look at what we're going to be going up against this hasn't been plowed yet this year I mean that's why it's you know it's abandoned mall they don't plow it but it's been driven over all year long so cars trucks semis come in here and they use this as a parking spot so this is hard pack snow ice we probably got we got to have a couple inches of this stuff of just pure ice before you get down to the asphalt so that's what I want to find out today is this thing has down pressure can it cut through crap like that and how well will it actually do we've already seen it plowing super deep snow if you've missed that video go back to it I think we had a blizzard for 24 hours and we got nailed with 21 in of snow and Egan so we know it can handle a lot of snow just from that video but how well does it scrape how well does it really get down and get down to the asphalt and remove all the nasty stuff over the top of it so that's what we're going to be checking out today let's just get right into it that's all we got for you on this one guys hope you enjoyed it God bless go get them and keep your fingers warm your toes warm and keep it out of the ditch catch you guys on the next one God bless go get him you guys
