(13,862 characters)don't put no ethanol gas in your power equipment I can't talk my dad into listening to that he thinks hi octane is the same as non ethanol tell them in the comments woo welcome back to the Stony Ridge Farm Channel guys man I'm in your face pretty quick here aren't I I'll calm down I promise today is going to be pretty fun what's in the box that's what we're going to do we're going to play what's in the box today I know what's in the box it's a cool log Splitter from log ox and what we're going to do is open it up and give it its first test run this is the final prototype of the log Ox Timber Ox Summit that's what it's called Timber Ox Summit um also man you guys ever put a pair of nice buck skin gloves on like this and just feel at home I remember growing up gloves were hard to come by I don't know if Dad was a cheap skate or what but my dad would always have these cheap cloth gloves whenever we got up firewood and stuff like that and I remember getting my first pair of nice buck skinn gloves like this I don't know just kind of brings back memories to me this was something super special to me back when I was younger cuz you just didn't get a nice pair of gloves I don't know so speaking of nice stuff we're going to open this guy up we're going to pull all this equipment out we'll hook up to the Pioneer and we'll pull it down the woods we're going to cut up some firewood we got some dead windfalls down in the wood some Oak and uh have some fun bust out the steel chainsaws got a pretty cool saw here guys that is something really cool we're going to do a full comprehensive review of this Critter here very soon this thing has two miles on it and what better way to break in a new Honda than loading this thing up with firewood this is the Pioneer 1006 and it has a self-leveling suspension that you're going to see in action as we pile up oak on the back of this Critter so that's going to be fun this thing is tight as a tick brand spanking new and we going to knock the new off baby all yeah H me awae let's take you guys around and show you this crat real quick let you know what we got what we're working on so again this is called the timber Ox Summit I cannot wait to get it out of this crate evidently this crate is from Amish country or Amish folk that is one Stout crate this is like 1X six uh awesome rough cut Lumber so we'll be using that in a future project I happen to have unboxed another one of these the Prototype which came out here for testing uh I guess probably about 6 months ago so I got a pile of lumber here what we're going to do is we're going to remove each one of these torque screws and you guys are going to see how many screws we get out of this thing a very very well protected well-built crate not that that really matters but I think it's really awesome oh o here it is the timber Ox Summit split return good stuff good stuff so guys this comes with a pump multi-use transfer pump and the reason it comes with a pump is because our fuel tank is kind of up under here so it's a little bit difficult to get to again that's why you get a transfer pump with this this protects the fuel tank and protects everything around it got an operator's manual right here so this has what's called the quad clean system right here you pop off these little tabs this is the air intake for this machine and that air intake for summertime right here would be out outward facing for winter time in real cold conditions it would be facing towards the exhaust right there which would pre-warm the engine just a little bit or pre-warm the air that comes into the engine just to make it run just a little bit more efficiently pretty cool stuff this is a Coler command 14 horsepower command Pro 14 horsepower we have the pull start right here and we also have a key start underneath here are all your hydraulic levers and everything uh this deck comes up and I'll show you that here in just a minute back here you have a gigantic tank for your hydraulic fluid and this has a thermometer built in so you know if your hydraulic fluid gets too hot you need to give your machine a little bit of a break I'm not sure exactly what the temperature rating is there but you can keep an eye on it and that way you don't burn up your equipment if you're running this thing for 5 hours straight or something like that back and forth back and forth I'm not sure what the temperature degrees is I'll post it down there so this is again is our hydraulic tank this is the timber Ox Summit americanmade log splitter proudly made in the USA I am friends with these guys at logox I know the whole family they're great people when you buy something like this and you can call the guy on the phone and ask him what's up what's this what's that and he knows what he's talking about I think that's important it's also really I don't know flattering to know that I helped design this thing so the design of it is fairly unique I do believe this is 12 in high and this is a splitter wedge uh for multiple ways to split I think this is called a four-way wedge so 1 2 3 4 and it's kind of stuck on there pretty tight right now from Shipping here we go let that dude loose and you can just do the two-way split pretty cool here's all the lumber that came off of this thing like I said there's enough lumber there to build a chicken cebe that's pretty cool anyway that's a added bonus it don't cost anything extra now we do need to check this and make sure we know we have hydraulic fluid in there but we want to check before we fire it up and make sure we have oil in the system so we'll crack this guy open I'll bet you anything a little bit of oil kind of pours out of here if it's got oil in it nope no but we are slam full of oil just like we should be awesome engine hydraulic pump right here gigantic hydraulic filter and our battery is tucked up here where it won't get hurt or harmed or drug off by driving this thing through the bushes is and believe me you want to take your log splitter to your wood not your wood to your log splitter if you can help it now if you've got a yard all set up and you can bring logs in that's cool if you cut them up in the woods and you can split them right in the woods it saves you a step I would say so let's get it off the pallet hook to the Honda and down in the woods we'll contact choke oh let's tighten that guy back [Applause] down there we go fuel on wait a minute fuel Off fuel on choke on contact [Applause] clear yeah now the instructions say to let that thing warm up up a little bit let the hydraulic fluid warm up a little bit we're going to cycle it a few times don't put no ethanol gas in your power equipment I can't talk my dad into listening to that he thinks high octane is the same as non-ethanol tell them in the comments don't put that junk in your power equipment I don't care if it's designed to run off of up to 10% ethanol fuel don't do it that's my preaching to you when you shut a machine down like this here's what you need to do this is not from the mouth of Timber Ox this is from the mouth of Josh take your engine while it's running and shut that fuel off all the way off okay let that machine run completely dry of fuel in that carburetor that will take all of that gas and all the chance for corrosion up inside your carburetor if there is ethanol in your fuel and you just don't know honestly when I go to the gas station I buy nonanol and ethanol fuel and it comes out of the same pump I'm wondering is that really non ethanol I shut it down by running it empty of fuel for storage in the winter time put some stabilizer in your fuel and take care of your machines this says gasoline no E15 or E85 but E10 is okay I say use non-ethanol gas if you want to keep your power equipment running correctly that's what I say let's get in the woods before transport and before use let me show you real quick there are two little slots right here this little slider goes out and holds that deck up right there when you get ready to move it simply slide that to the side there's another one on this side and let this table flop down just like that if you haul it with that up you run a risk of running into your tailgate ask me how I know yeeh let's put her to work baby so right down here in the woods we're going to put this thing in four-wheel drive is a tree that's a wind fult blew over by the wind uh probably two years ago and I've been needing to get it up I might actually need to kind of need to walk down here and take a look first do a little look see like Grandpa used to say I know wind going to get to split in the logs well takes time what was that BR got me here's our windfall and uh believe that's a white oak right there yep got to get that out of here and then there's another one way back there too we'll get that off camera I think the best thing to do might be to come in from the bottom right here come up through there and then I don't know set her up about right here that's my goal and we'll drop few log rounds out of here let's try that you guys hear the cows they fussing at me more down it's so muddy look at this it's just sloppy muddy here it's that time of year up a little go log Splinter back here it's going to be a pain in the butt to back it back in here yeah so let's get this puppy all set up oh first we'll raise up our deck right here flip our tabs over both sides there we go nice and sturdy deck let me just show you what nice and sturdy means I am 240 lb that's what nice and sturdy means that's Stout made in America yeah baby go over there and need all the hay it's on the ground got $1,000 worth of hay on the ground over there sorry me and the cows ain't getting long today steel Ms 500i this is not the one that my buddy blew up actually the one my buddy blew up he's got it back so that's kind of cool it all worked out I fixed it for him and he got it back if you guys didn't see that video I'll post it at the end of this A buddy of mine put the wrong fuel in an ms500i and fried that saw and we brought it in the shop took it apart rebuilt it fired it up and it's ready to cut now safety first as always we'll get our chaps on and everything else and we'll cut into this log ooh somebody with a little bitty head had this thing on it won't me I got a big old melon uh let's get this all warmed up here let's make sure we got plenty of fuel and Bar Oil in there yep yep let's get some Speck going on stay up no no come on bro what you got oh well that makes sense when you're not properly assembled it tend to not work right don't throw your tools kids learn that from me right now all right now we're cooking let's do a little bit of measuring show you guys what we got how long is the stroke in other words how big of a piece of wood can you put in here 27 in or 26 and 3/4 in if you don't use the wedge the wedge is two different setups so one set up flip this way for a little bit bigger log so the splitter is for the four-way is about 6 in high flip it over for a smaller log and the splitter is 5 in High pretty cool awesome design here to keep the log from popping up and causing a problem right there I like that pretty cool how it slides right here all the debris that goes down in here and you'll see this in a second it all kind of falls out the back this also steadies your log and holds it in place so let me fire up the 500i get it warmed up a little bit and we'll fire this thing up and start splitting wood [Applause] [Music] oh so what started all this an introduction to Austin at logox and this is the the log Ox 3 in one forestry multi-tool this is for handling the logs this is the Timber Jack so it's like a convertible basically you can pull that out take this off you can have a Timber Jack a pickaroon and a uh log holler pretty cool I'll use this when I get ready to cut the rest of that log up for today's purposes we're running out of daylight I'm going to leave this thing parked over here unless I fill it up with wood and then we'll use this log o so we're going to set this guy to the side and grab our log hauler reach down oh my goodness that's heavy contact to [Music] so you jiggle this handle after you've stopped it to release the hydraulic pressure be sure you turn it all the way off if you turn the fuel off just like I do man that is awesome so you see this little interesting concept right here it's a step step wedge so it splits a little bit breaks that initial uh piece of wood and then you don't have to rely so much on the rest of it so this is really heavy duty this is about 12 in high I did find that the four-way splitter was easy to use but it was just as easy to flip and roll so this deck is designed for slipping and sliding you see how close we are to the back of the side by side so you can just offload it right off of here right on the side by side if you had a pickup truck I'd say we'd be about this close to the tailgate so you could probably just split wood and push it back in the tailgate cool stuff guys I'll post a link to this down in the video description for you this is the timber Ox Summit my first time using the full version I've used the Prototype this is the full version made in the USA logox good stuff good company good people and well thought out pretty cool thanks guys appreciate you joining me here on this tool Tuesday hope you have a wonderful day we'll see you in the next video here on the Stony Rich Farm it's getting dark and I got to go feed them cows the natives are getting restless woo that's hungry cows see you next time take care something like that door is [Music] locked and I stop I'm going to trip over it season time going fall down be cool wo let's fall down I don't like you stick I don't like you last night we let the chicken talk man remember everything but he said spill me up before you split wood see you guys next time
