String lines always straight!
What happens here
After the joist ends are cut flush, position the rim joists (also known as band joists) against these ends to form the outer perimeter of the deck frame. Use a nail gun to securely fasten the rim joists to each individual joist end. Drive multiple fasteners through the rim joist into the end grain of each joist, ensuring a strong and rigid connection. Repeat this process for all sides of the deck frame. This step completes the basic structure of the deck frame, providing a stable foundation for decking materials.
Goal: Securely attach the perimeter of the deck frame.
