Stair Construction 101. Let’s hear what you would have done differently. 🤔😜 #framing #deck

What happens here

After positioning the first two stringers, the worker selects a horizontal wooden board, which will serve as the structural support for the lowest step's tread. This board is placed across the corresponding notches of the two stringers and is then securely fastened to each stringer using a cordless drill and appropriate outdoor-grade wood screws. This step begins to tie the stringers together and establish the first step.

Goal: Secure the initial framework for the first step

Tools and materials

  • Cordless Drill — Driving screws to fasten boards securely
  • Wood Screws — Fastening the wooden boards to the stringers
  • Wooden Board — Supporting the step treads and connecting stringers
