This technique brilliantly reveals even microscopic nicks, dings, or subtle irregularities, such as hinge indentations, that would be invisible under normal lighting conditions, ensuring all flaws are identified before final painting. Any newly identified flaws should be addressed with Bondo glazing putty as described in the previous step.
