Sometimes the best return is happiness.

What happens here

After the sub-base is properly compacted, the next step is to install the patio pavers, as seen forming the expansive surface in the video. Begin by installing paver edging (plastic or metal) around the perimeter of the patio area to hold the pavers in place. Next, spread a uniform layer of bedding sand (approximately 1 inch thick) over the compacted sub-base, leveling it using screed bars and a straight edge. Carefully lay the chosen pavers, like the large light-colored ones in the video, in the desired pattern, working from a corner and ensuring each paver is tightly spaced against its neighbor. Use a rubber mallet to gently tap pavers into place and maintain a consistent level. A wet saw will be necessary to cut pavers for edges, curves, and around any permanent fixtures. Once all pavers are laid, sweep polymeric sand into the joints until they are completely filled. Lightly mist the surface with water according to the polymeric sand manufacturer's instructions to activate it, which will harden the sand and lock the pavers together, preventing weed growth and insect infestation. Finally, compact the entire paved surface using a plate compactor with a protective mat to settle the pavers and further activate the polymeric sand.

Goal: Lay a durable and aesthetically pleasing paver patio
