What happens here

Once transported, the excavator precisely lowers each concrete block onto the pre-existing layers or the foundation of the retaining wall. A ground worker guides the block into its exact position, ensuring it aligns correctly with adjacent blocks and maintains the desired wall line and level. Construction adhesive is applied to the top surface of the lower block layer using a caulk gun before the new block is seated, providing a strong bond between layers. After correct placement, the excavator's clamp releases the block, and the process is repeated for subsequent blocks.

Goal: Accurately position and bond the concrete blocks to form the retaining wall.

Tools and materials

  • Block-lifting Clamp — Releasing the blocks once positioned
  • Caulk Gun — Applying construction adhesive cleanly and efficiently
  • Excavator TB230 — Precisely lowering and positioning blocks
  • Level — Checking the horizontal and vertical alignment of the blocks
  • Work Gloves — Protecting hands of ground crew when guiding blocks and handling the clamp
  • Construction Adhesive — Bonding concrete blocks together for increased stability
  • Large Concrete Blocks — Forming the structure of the retaining wall
