Save your chainsaw and your back..cool tools for the forest!

hey folks this is Josh Stoney Ridge farmer welcome to the farm vlog today what a beautiful day to get out in the woods and cut some firewood so we've got a bunch of trees down we're gonna get over here in the woods I'm going to show you a cool new tool it's called the log ox it's a timber jack a picker rune and a can't hook all in one we're going to use it down here in the woods we're going to test it we're going to tell you what we think about it have some fun and there'll be a link in the video description if you decide you want to get one for yourself or tell your wife you want one of those for Christmas so let's get down here have some fun cut some firewood and enjoy this beautiful day alright get ourselves a mess down here a lot of wind falls trees fell over in the creek big piles a mess here we've got some logs like these guys are right here they need to be set up and cut I also have a fairly large tree over here get over here I'm gonna start having some fun this is the log ox and I'm going to explain this to you in fairly simple terms this is used for picking up wood without having to bend over so let's face it when you're in the woods and you're working and you're getting up firewood the biggest thing that really wears you down is that constant bending over I'm going to show you how you get rid of that problem with this tool right here now this tool is a forestry multi-tool the way it works is you have an extra bar right down here and you can put an extension so there's a hole right here slides right down in just like so and now you have a long-handled can't hook it's held in place with a pin system we're going to go ahead and assemble it for you right in front of your very eyes so the pin goes right through here just like so and now I have a can't hook so if I want to roll over a big log I can hook my log and pull it over with this nice can't hook very very nice premium construction this thing is not going to go bad it's going to last you a lifetime made in America I have spoken with the owners of the company these folks are nice they're family-oriented made in America and you can buy it on Amazon which is rare something really rare so there is assembled the can't hook and you can still use this to pick up your wood but you have the can't hook also we're going to be using this a whole lot on the farm I can tell already now the next thing you have is the timber jack this is the timber jack okay it's a little tea that mounts right to this guy with the same pin system so it comes with three pins if you lose a pin you can easily replace these either or standard pin that you can find basically in any hardware store or farm supply store or anywhere you might get your forestry supplies so the pin system goes together very simply just drop your PIN in like so I've never heard of a forestry multi-tool before I use this thing so this is the timber jack in other words you grab your log like a can't hook and you lean it over and it picks it up and it gets your saw out of the dirt and helps you not have to bend over quite as far so I don't know about you but I'm for any tool that'll keep me from bending over in the woods while I'm cutting so we're gonna get busy cutting some wood and I'm going to show you some scenarios where you might need a forestry multi-tool I had seen this before on YouTube and said man I got to get myself one of those to keep my saw out of the dirt it makes a big difference in keeping that saw out of the dirt not taking chances and hitting rocks and stuff like that a very very handy tool so let's get busy and we'll have some fun with it so right here is a prime example this is a scenario you might find yourself in in the woods and basically you just take the can't hook portion of the log ox you grab on to your log you tip it up and boom you got a timber jack now I can go on and cut this log into sections without dipping my chain in the dirt awesome or I can lay it out cut it all the way down roll it over and finish it off without getting my chain in the dirt and it's up about that far probably eight inches off the ground and saves in my back a little bit let's get busy [Music] I've got my individual cuts made I don't have to worry about my saw getting anywhere near rocks or dirt I flip it back up very easily take my can't hook and roller back over just like so and now I'm ready to make my finish cuts pretty cool alright let's show you again one more time we're gonna roll it over just like so nice so we push our can't hook hook to it rolled it over on the timber jack and now I can go through make my individual cuts roll it back off and finish it off and never ever have to get my saw anywhere close to the ground awesome [Music] roll back so really there's no two ways about it this is a slick little setup there is a carrying handle that fits on to a custom belt that log ox makes and if you're looking for a good leather belt I know it's tough to go out there and find a real leather belt a real man's belt it's worth going and checking out a log ox belt just to get a belt so this is the holster and basically it just drops in that holster you can walk around while you're getting your firewood up you want to reach down you get a stick just reach down get it pick it up and you don't have to bend over release it and boom awesome awesome tool so we just walk over here grab our grabber pick up our stick and take it right onto the Gator just lay it on the log grab it pick it up and you got it give it a little sling this is about a 10-inch log right here no problem there it is guys there's the holster there is the hook for help and you pick up wood there is a all in one I guess four or five and one forestry multi-tool for a guy cutting wood it saves your back it saves your chainsaw it's very very well worth it easy to load wood with I can't say enough about it I can't say enough about log ox as a company it's a family company austin
