Repairing a Bad Epoxy Pour

What happens here

The video begins with an introduction to the project, showcasing a previously poured live-edge epoxy countertop. The creator explains that he's tackling two projects: fixing imperfections on the existing countertop due to a leak during the initial pour, and pouring a new epoxy mantelpiece. He highlights the unevenness and a 'divot' where epoxy leaked. The existing countertop has an 'agate' look, but needs a smooth finish. He mentions his overconfidence in squeegeeing the epoxy, which led to the issue. A second person is shown installing the mantelpiece, which will also receive an epoxy pour. The creator emphasizes using the same product and techniques for both, noting the product's forgiving nature.

Goal: Understand the scope and challenges of the epoxy restoration and new pour projects.

Tools and materials

i'm gonna be a bubble bubble bubble popping baby and it looks like a giant egg barfed all over my countertops squeegee off and fill in these two holes she's about as flat as you can get okay okay guys we're gonna be tackling two projects today one is fixing a countertop that we poured previously and if you just can get right down on it maybe you can see just a little bit of unevenness and what happened was we were doing a really thick pour right through here and it leaked and so we got a little bit of a divot and i got overconfident in my ability to work with this product and i thought i could squeegee it off but that's not the way it works so we are going to be correcting a mistake i'm gonna put a live edge like this so basically we're gonna walk you through what i do there and then we're gonna be going over here and pour in this mantel that frankie is working on mounting right now so we're gonna finish this one off and do a new pour on that so you guys can watch both processes and we're going to be using the exact same products exact same techniques because it's really forgiving we've done a few different epoxy projects in the past and i've never worked with a product that was quite as user-friendly as this one so we'll show you what we're going to be doing maybe you can see it from here you can kind of see see that that's not okay bad bad bad yeah
