What happens here
Once the planters are in their desired locations, begin the planting process for each one. Start by filling each planter approximately one-third to one-half full with the potting mix. Carefully remove each plant from its nursery container, gently loosening its root ball to encourage outward growth. Following the 'thriller, filler, spiller' principle, place a tall, central plant, such as a vibrant Canna, in the middle of the planter to act as the 'thriller' or focal point. Next, arrange several different colored New Guinea Impatiens around the central plant to serve as 'filler' plants, adding color and fullness. Introduce trailing plants like yellow Calibrachoas to spill gracefully over the edges of the planter, positioning two in the front for a cascading 'spiller' effect. Finally, incorporate a decorative green Asparagus Fern for accent and texture, typically placed towards the front or sides to complement the flowering plants. Fill any remaining space with potting mix, ensuring the soil level is a few inches below the rim to allow for watering, and gently pat down the soil around the base of each plant to secure them.
Goal: Arrange and plant the selected flowers and greenery into each planter.
