What happens here

The video transitions to show the installation of the paver edge restraint, referred to as 'Permi Edge' or 'paver edge restraint.' This black, flexible border is cemented along the perimeter of the paver walkway and patio to hold the pavers in place. A freshly applied concrete mixture is visible along the edge, which is being allowed to cure. To facilitate continued work without disturbing the curing edge, a temporary wooden bridge has been constructed across the walkway. This bridge allows workers to transport soil and other materials from one side to the other, enabling the backfilling process to continue without stepping on the newly installed and curing restraint.

Goal: Observe the paver edge restraint installation and curing process

Tools and materials

  • Shovel — Moving soil or concrete (visible near the edge)
  • Concrete Mix — Anchoring the paver edge restraint
  • Paver Edge Restraint — Securing the perimeter of the pavers
  • Wooden Planks — Creating a temporary bridge over the curing edge restraint
