Implement Hay Distribution (Bale Grazing or Unrolling)
At 0:50 in
Raising Cattle: What is Bale Grazing v/s Unrolling hay, is it better for the land?
What happens here
Utilize either bale grazing or unrolling hay techniques to feed cattle and simultaneously distribute organic matter. For bale grazing, simply place whole round bales in strategic locations across the pasture. Cattle will eat a portion, trample another portion into the ground, and leave the remainder to decompose, creating concentrated patches of nutrients and new growth. For unrolling hay, use a specialized unroller attachment pulled by an ATV or UTV to spread hay in long lines, allowing for a more dispersed distribution of biomass and manure. This method is particularly effective for large areas or when aiming for more uniform coverage.
Goal: Feed cattle while naturally fertilizing the land with hay and manure.
