What happens here

To address the identified issues, a new design is presented via a digital render shown on a smartphone. This proposed design features a wider, multi-tiered landing directly outside the back door, followed by steps that extend not only downwards but also to the side of the patio. This strategic layout is conceptualized to create a more spacious and accessible transition from the house to the patio. A key benefit highlighted in the design is the ability to place outdoor furniture, specifically a large couch, closer to the house's exterior wall without obstructing the natural pathway, thereby regaining valuable patio space and improving overall traffic flow.
