Sand Between Clear Coats

What happens here

After the first coat of clear poly has dried completely (tack-free), lightly sand the entire surface of the handrail using an Ekasilk Sponge (sanding sponge). This step is often called 'denibbing' and helps to smooth out any dust nibs or imperfections that may have settled in the first coat, as well as providing mechanical adhesion for subsequent coats. Wipe away any sanding dust before applying the next coat.

Goal: Smooth the clear coat and prepare for additional layers.
