Preparing for garden season!Logging, Sawmilling and Building raised beds!
What happens here
Start the Wood-Mizer sawmill. Using a log ox, roll a white oak log onto the sawmill's bed. Engage the hydraulic controls to lift the log and secure it. Begin the first pass with the band saw blade to create a flat surface on one side of the log. Carefully turn the log using the hydraulics and mill another side to create a square edge. Repeat this process for all four sides until the log is squared into a 'cant' (a log with four flat sides). This cant will then be further processed into specific dimensional lumber.
Goal: Square the logs into cants for further milling.
