Predator Strikes the Farm!
What happens here
Critically inspect the existing wire mesh or fencing of your coop. If the gaps are large enough for a pencil to pass through, they are sufficient for mice and small snakes to enter. Replace or reinforce these vulnerable areas with fine-gauge hardware cloth, which has a much smaller mesh size. Secure the hardware cloth tightly to the coop structure using a staple gun or wire fasteners, ensuring there are no loose edges or new gaps created during installation.
Goal: Physically block all small predator entry points.
