(12,442 characters)this christy idaho painter here on paint life tv today i'm going to be setting up a portable job site spray booth from paint line in about 12 minutes so if you want to see this thing how quick i can set it up and how versatile this spray booth is stay tuned for this video all right i'm getting ready to set up my spray booth out here in a garage i'm working on a bathroom remodel in this house and if you want to watch this whole bathroom makeover stay tuned on my youtube channel it's gonna be a pretty cool video but i'm setting up this job site spray booth out in a garage these things can be set up in garages inside of a house they can't be used exterior because wind can actually pick the thing up and blow it over so i really like them setting up inside of a garage and that way i don't have to mask off everything in the garage drop everything worry about getting overspray on it this thing's got a ventilation system to it too that i'm going to show you how i go about setting up the ventilation system so i can vent it out but this thing is absolutely incredible and it sets up extremely fast it's a very versatile job site spray booth i'm gonna be spraying a cabinet a vanity that we're doing a makeover on in this thing and so we're gonna get setting this thing up it comes all one kit right here in this bag that has handles on it so you can carry it and it's a canvas bag just unzips we're gonna unzip this thing and we're gonna get this thing set up all right i'm getting ready to set up my spray booth it's a square i'm going to be setting down the floor of it first so i'm just going to open up set my floor up it's got your rail bottom rails for your floor and you want to determine where you're going to be venting and then where you're going to be have your opening at because this is it's got a top bottom and three sides and it's open in the front so i'm going to have my opening in this direction i'm going to be venting out the back and out the front of the garage here so i've got my four rails it does come with instructions and you probably want to keep those instructions inside your bag in case one of your employees that's never set it up before you know um has the instructions but it's very very simple and easy to set up and it's very fast to set up so got my four pieces set up for my floor now once i get this thing built it actually could slide around really easily i'm going to move it back a little bit right here have my floor right there have some room in the back for my power ventilation system now you can use this unventilated or you can have a ventilation system to it so i'll open up my top of my bag and i'm going to find my four corner pieces i got four corner pieces and this is going to put your floor together these things just slide in all i got to do is get this thing lined up and it just slides right in tighten it down i'm going to get all four corners attached it's my first step [Music] when you purchase this thing it actually comes with it has disposable liners and i've actually reused the liners but they're made to just toss and throw away after one use if you're really careful you could um take it off and reuse it but when you purchase the kit it comes with three three disposable liners now i'm gonna start putting up my corner pieces you can see how these are kind of like if you've ever built a tent you know when you're a kid when you're done camping like the tent stakes you have kind of a rubber band rubber um mechanism inside of it so they just go together really easily you're gonna put all four corners on there the poles are color coded the the orange ones are supports magnetic supports that support the top of your booth white ones are my corners and then my side supports so i'm gonna put those on i've got two side supports i'm gonna put on right here so i started putting my corners on and um i got a new spray booth i got a um older style spray booth and i just got this new one and the side supports have got to be put on before you get your corners completed so we'll get that side support on but my old style spray booth the corners just dropped in there but now you can see i can slide my corner down here or side support not corner support tighten it up okay i'm getting my sides set up that you can just be roughly in the middle my opening these are going to be on the sides because my opening is up front there got all my side supports corner supports almost put up it goes fairly quick so it comes here's one of the liners right here so it comes with three liners and you can purchase more liners [Applause] from paint line and the liner opens up and it even has instructions on the liner where to actually start putting your liner on so you're going to find the points on the liner it tells you right here here's lower connection point so it gives you guidelines where to attach it says begin set up right here so it makes it pretty easy to set up the liner is just going to slide down on my poles it's got a top bottom and sides all right so here goes the liner i'm going to start putting the liner on it's not very difficult all it does is just slide down on your poles and you can even take them off to help yourself install them and just make sure you go slow enough that you don't rip through the liner [Applause] and you don't i don't like to put them all the way down until i get it all around all sides and you can loosen up this side if you need to to allow it to slide where it sits properly it tells you these are the lower connection point so this it's going to slide down to the bottom but i'm not going to slide it down once again i've noticed it's easier to allow it to stay up high until you get it all the way around so it doesn't create as much tension all right so i'm just working my way around all four corners and the two sides and you can see these lower dot these orange dots these are the connection points all you got to do is find you can see right there it kind of poked poke through the plastic because i wasn't paying attention i was talking let's um just find these orange dots all four corners four sides just work it down the first time you do this the first time i ever set it up it took me about 15 minutes to set it up and i've gotten it down to around the 12 minute mark setting it up next side find the next lower connection point right here you'll start to see it's starting to take shape now it's i'm setting up this spray booth because it is winter time it's cold outside i can't do any spraying outside so i'm setting up in the garage my hands are actually getting really cool i'll be able to heat this garage up and close it once i'm done here but it's starting to get hard to do this because my hands are getting really cold you know and it breaks so there's an end point right here where it breaks open you're just coming out to this end point and there's top um holes that our supports will glide through the top so i'm just getting it right to the end i can see it's now it just poked through and this one is going to be a support that slides over the top so there's my working on my last corner now this thing is the booth is really light too so it can be you can make it anywhere and slide it around if you need to [Applause] i've got my four side up so now you can see i've got a bottom i've got a top and i've got my sides now i'm going to want to start sliding my booth down just working it down this is kind of one of those tricks i've learned from setting these things up so many times i'm just gonna get it all the way down to the bottom and our booth is almost set up we've got to do our okay now you see we've got magnetic supports right here they got magnets on the ends of them really strong magnets these things go right through to give your roof support they sat right on top there's magnets on top of there and then the last thing my booth is all set up is putting on the side supports and these are magnetic too you can see how they stick and this keeps your booth square up top so there's my five-sided booth if i spill anything on the bottom it's got plastic on the bottom nothing's going to bleed through what i do like to do i don't like the plastic on the bottom just alone you can put a drop cloth down but i'm going to show you i like putting x board or ram board down here it's an absorbent paper really thick paper and i actually reuse it so i just fold up my x-board and reuse it every single time and i just keep it as a floor for my spray booth i'm going to show you my flooring system right now so you can see i can move this thing around and slide it around really easily wherever i want it and you can use this thing when i do cabinets inside of a house kitchen cabinet cabinets i set up my spray booth inside the house all right so it's a five-sided booth it does have a plastic floor on the bottom so if you do spill anything it's not going to bleed through and get on your floor and so that's really important indoors i use these things indoors when doing cabinets in other type of painting projects and these things are absolutely really versatile with that bottom floor you can use them on how guys can use them carpenters can use them for controlling dust inside but tile guys if you're cutting tile inside you've got a a waterproof booth basically right here that you could be working in but i do like to put a floor down because i don't like to walk on the plastic is um overspray getting down on the plastic is going to stay wet longer i want something absorbent like i'm export or ram board so i always lay a floor down and the floors are reusable multiple times i take and cut it out and there's actually plastic on the top bottom of your ram board and i just fold that up and reuse it so i i've used them like five or six times before i throw them away but i'm going to show you making the floor what i do here's some [Applause] this right here is floor shell so this one is a really thick product i like using something really thick for my floor and once again it's going to make it reusable and you can see i actually reuse this paper multiple times get it in here and i'm just going to tape it down i want something really strong to hold it down so i'm using t-rex tape right here now it's going to have a tendency to want to roll up until you know it lays down um so you have to set something on it heavy until it flattens out you see i turned around and just did it the opposite way so it's rolling the opposite direction this time to see if i don't have to fight it so so much it's really really cold my tape's not sticking so well so i'm just gonna put some um frog tape production tape on the edges just to help it stick a little bit better this stuff sticks in the cold better than my duct tape t-rex tape all right so i got my floor all installed right here and this is just what i like to do with my boots and if anything spills on this flooring paper this thick floor shell it doesn't actually soak through it does um absorb but it won't soak through so it's just an added measure but it's also over spraying stuff it doesn't stay wet and tacky on the floor like this when i'm all done with this thing because it has a seam in the middle i'm just going to cut it out with a knife because i'm going to throw the booth away but the floor will now just fold up and i just fold it in half and then i just keep it in storage and i reuse these floors multiple times like i went to grab my other floor and i opened it up and it had a whole lot of dust on it because it was used um quite a few times and so i decided to just go ahead and make another one so you can see how fast you know i made this floor okay got our vanity out here this is what we're actually going to be spraying in this booth this is part of our um bathroom remodel the spray booth is all set up i do got to get the ventilation system set up we're going to show you how the ventilation system sets up these spray cans this the floor shell the paper that's down for our floor it's eventually going to flatten out here soon and i'll be able to take those cans out of here and get them out but it's all set up and ready to go we're gonna be uh doing a makeover on this thing applying aqua coat on here eliminating all the grain out of this thing and painting this vanity white so we're gonna show you the process of making this thing look absolutely amazing a 25 vanity to a masterpiece
