What happens here

From his kayak, the narrator proceeds to open bags of Enviroplug Medium bentonite and pours the small, rock-like pieces directly into the open, broken end of the ductile iron pipe. The goal is to fill the pipe's interior void, allowing the bentonite to absorb water, swell, and thereby seal the leak.

Goal: The narrator begins dumping the bentonite clay directly into the exposed end of the broken ductile iron pipe in the pond.
