What happens here
Using a garden hose fitted with a spray nozzle, gently and evenly mist the entire area of pavers. The water activates the polymers in the sand, causing it to harden and effectively lock the pavers in place. Apply water in multiple passes, using a fine mist or shower setting to avoid washing the sand out of the joints. Allow the water to soak in and fully saturate the sand without creating puddles or over-saturating the surface. This gradual wetting process ensures proper curing of the polymeric sand.
Goal: Activate the polymer in the sand and cure it to a hard, stable state.
Tools and materials
- Garden Hose — Delivering water to wet the polymeric sand
- Spray Nozzle — Providing a gentle mist or shower setting for wetting the sand
- Water Tap water — To activate the polymer in the sand and facilitate curing
