Plowing an ICE Road across the Lake

What happens here

Beyond snow removal, the UTV can also be used for brush management. The video shows the UTV approaching piles of branches along the shoreline. Using either a front-mounted snow plow (as seen in later segments) or a grapple loader (as seen early in the video), carefully push or scoop the branches from the land onto a cleared area on the frozen lake. The goal is to consolidate the brush into a manageable pile for eventual disposal, such as a controlled bonfire. This process effectively clears the immediate shoreline of debris.

Goal: Clear fallen branches and brush from the shoreline and consolidate them.

Tools and materials

  • Chainsaw — Cutting large branches for easier handling and disposal
  • Grapple Loader — Grabbing and lifting brush (seen in introductory clips, an alternative to the plow for this task)
  • Snow Plow Attachment — Pushing brush into piles
  • UTV — The primary vehicle for moving brush
  • Work Gloves — Protecting hands while handling rough branches
  • Fallen Branches/Brush N/A — The material to be collected and piled
