Apply Wood Stain in Light Coats

What happens here

Once the wood conditioner has dried for the appropriate time, it's time to apply the wood stain. Using a clean rag or applicator pad, apply the stain in very light, thin coats. Rub the stain into the wood, ensuring you always move *with* the wood grain. Applying light coats allows for better control over the color depth and helps prevent pooling, which can lead to dark spots or blotches. If you desire a darker color, it's always better to apply multiple thin coats, allowing each to dry slightly, rather than one thick coat. Wipe off any excess stain after a few minutes, following the manufacturer's recommendations, to prevent a sticky finish.

Goal: Apply the wood stain in very light coats, rubbing it into the wood while moving with the grain to achieve a rich, even color.
