Paver Patio - Laying BIG SLABS!

What happens here

After the concrete base has cured, construct the wooden frames for the built-in benches using lumber. These frames will sit on top of the concrete base. Once the frames are complete, clad them with composite decking boards. Measure, cut, and secure the composite boards to the wooden frames to form the finished seating surfaces and sides of the benches. This will integrate the benches seamlessly with the overall patio design.

Goal: Build and finish the built-in benches for functional seating

Tools and materials

  • Composite Decking — Cladding the bench frames
  • Drill — Assembling frames and securing decking
  • Lumber Pro Wood — Framing the benches
  • Saw — Cutting lumber and decking

It's something that we've done on a couple projects, and I really love how it ties the deck and patio space together. So, after we pour the slab, we're just using pear wood. We're building frames on top of it. And then we're going to use decorators to clad the top and the sides and it's just a really easy way to add functional seating and to tie the two spaces together. So, it's going to look really sweet. The bench wraps around the corner here so that we can have seating around a fire pit. So, it's really going to tie the two spaces together. It's going to look awesome and it's going to be functional. And we're just about to have Frank the plumber here hooking us up, getting us ready for that fire pit. Howdy ho, Frankie. I grabbed my
