Painting Perfect Walls. Master Rolling Interior Walls.

What happens here

To prevent paint from drying out, skinning over, or accumulating condensation, it's essential to cover all paint containers when not in active use. The presenter showcases various effective methods. For the main 5-gallon paint bucket, he demonstrates placing a traditional "cut lid" (a lid with a section removed for a roller) or a reusable "brush beanie" which also helps create a cone shape to prevent condensation from dripping back into the paint. He also shows a cardboard "Paint Saver Lid" that fits over the bucket and has a knockout for a roller, though he notes it's less durable and reusable than plastic options. He also mentions covering roller pans with plastic bags to keep the paint fresh. Properly covering containers helps maintain paint quality and prevents issues like hardened paint chunks or water drips contaminating the mixture.

Goal: Cover paint buckets and trays with appropriate lids or covers to prevent paint from drying, skinning, or water contamination.

into a bucket of water all right now I'm getting ready to roll my walls I filled my pan got my bucket filled uh my five gallon bucket of my box paint sitting here this is something very important one of the things you always want to do as a painter is cover your buckets whether you're inside or outside there's a lot of different ways to cover your buckets one of my favorite is just using a cup lid like this this is a cut lid that we would use if you're um you want to cover your bucket and you're running in an air sprayer another one is a roast beanie which I'm a big fan of broccolini they're reusable is this gonna go on the bucket I like to push it down then I'll get rid of some of the air it kind of creates a cone any condensation and it's sitting outside the condensation is going to build up on the baggie it's gonna drip to the end and drip down into the paint kind of create some water over the top so it won't film over the brush reading there's another little device that goes over a bucket it's a cardboard device right here called the paint saver lid goes on your bucket just like this stays on the bucket just like that um it does have a pop out for a roller right here if you want to pop it out just get your roller can stick out of it has a out there that isn't knocked out so easy but just ends up being kind of like that knockout this is kind of the same is you know the cut lid it is a piece of um cardboard so I'm not a fan of it as much as because it's so breathable versus the plastic or the plastic lid right there uh they I don't I don't think they're really reusable these are reusable multiple multiple times this thing is probably going to be trash at the end of the day not as much of a fan of that but it is another option out there it's a pig saver lid all right now
