opinion so what was your goal in creating this online masking verse because you have a lot of videos out there where you do masks is it different than all your YouTube videos out there yeah I have um you know if you've been following me I've been creating videos on YouTube for uh since 2011 so I'm not a math major so I don't know how many years that is now what's 20 23. so that's 12 years 12 years 12 years of um making videos I think I've got over 1500 videos now and I do got a lot of videos on masking but nothing that goes into detail um like these videos do so there's videos there's quizzes there's a final exam and it just I have the opportunity to sit down and explain explain in extreme detail you know um the the subject and of masculine and it's kind of like my cabinet Wars so I got a cabinet course too online gamma course and it's just way more in depth and um in teachings but it's broken up into small pieces and I have watched it and I believe that I could be a good masker if I was hired and put on a team because you talk about like how to cut the stuff how to lay it out I mean you to go over the detail and make it really easy for somebody like me that's interesting so um do you want a job because you know this Idaho state government is hiring so oh yeah that is true so they're looking for a painter if you want a government job um I was uh contacted by the state of Idaho yesterday this is for the state of Idaho you can actually get a job as a painter full time for the state of Idaho and how much do they pay the um minimum salary is 16 maximum is 18 but I read the email so they have a really good retirement they have really good benefits so the thing is is that adds so the hourly wage might not be on what you're looking for but the benefits are really good yes a paid time off paid vacation health insurance Employee Retirement I mean there may be some point for so if you are interested in that you need to get on the chat and tell us and we can get you the do appreciate it and I think like masking obviously if you don't mask right you could have big disasters on your hands have you ever had like a big disaster on your hand because somebody didn't mask accurately um I you might be hinting at one but I mean okay you're not hinting at anything um we've had just throughout my career all kinds of just minor little things here and there um your masking not being done where the um the maskings come off or was it done thoroughly and and overspray or paint it's gotten you know under or you know around things or things weren't masks that we've painted on and you know nothing's ever not fixable um but it you know it makes the job just go longer and not as quickly and efficient way if at the end you're cleaning up over spray you know because of um you know masking wasn't done that's the whole goal I'm asking is so that it doesn't this way so you don't get paint where you don't want it exactly so so what disaster were you thinking of I wasn't thinking of any oh a lot of times you are ending at something no no I don't remember I just know that it is a very big deal and you talk about if you're a good masker it's going to make you a good sprayer or something like that or you're a good sprayer will make you a good mascara you'll never be a good sprayer until you're a good masker but okay say it one more time you're never gonna be a good sprayer unless you're a good mascara that's a big statement why is that and I'm trying to think um and what happens is you know um and to also masking or no I think it's the other way around you're never going to be a the best master that you can be until you spray it because what happens okay and so I said it backwards so okay my bad say it one more time you're never going to be the best or a super good Master until you spray because what happens is once you begin spraying after you after you've learned how to mask and stuff you will eventually start to see where all your mistakes and where your all your flaws are masking so if you're not tacking the masking down property and you're spraying and boom it flips up on the wall you're like dang it's like I understand now why you know I needed to attack those areas and um you'll eventually see you know leaks and holes and stuff and things you know when you start to spray also um you're never gonna be the best master until you pull up masking after things have been sprayed and painted and see the leaks because now you're like oh I here's a mistake this is you know it leaked right here so um it's good to learn how to mask but it's also good to learn how to spray you know or paint over the masking that you're masking so you become better okay that so if somebody learns how to yes somebody learns how to mask it's important to give them the opportunity to spray because then they're going to realize you know what this is why you're not just being obnoxious by making me push the tape down there's a real reason but I think it's like it's you know the course is really important too because and the caulking courses I'm working on right now because there's two skills that um I typically we always hired kids um you know college kids that kids they're adults so yeah they're young men yeah women so I've hire them they have no skill and the first thing we would do is teach them how to talk and if you know how to caulk and mask you literally right now you can go probably anywhere in the United States and get even the state of Idaho the state of Idaho you can make 22 an hour um if 22 to 25 if you can caulk and mask really good if you're fast and efficient I'll take you right now I'll hire you right now I mean me um so it's um it's an important skill and you know if you have employees you're hiring our course you square corner it's easier just to tear Corners um and put them in using a foam Pro versus sitting there and having to cut them all so like for us we used to sell a tadpole but that you can't get those anymore and it used to have a rubber band that kept it on and they would always break yeah and that just look at that it's crazy it just stays on there and you just you hold it lightly if you want to you can pull out and a little bit extra tack it down and it's going to stay on that roll of tape and it's not going to get lost but it's what's weird is you can um you don't have to you know do that um it's just weird it just stays on yep and um it's a cap it's like a hat it's a cap so that's that's yeah cover what's cover copper is um when I'm doing French doors or whenever I've got to um you know press the tape down because you don't want paint to bleed underneath your tape the copper tool you'll I used to like use a five in one or you can use your fingers but if you're doing it really fast um I've literally burned my fingers before doing it really fast but the copper is Affordable little hard plastic but it it kind of molds to whatever surface you're um running it over and it presses your tape down so no paint bleeds underneath and it's plastic so I'm like a five one it's stuck with a terrier tape there's a lot of time your 5-1 will catch it and tear it the copper it's
