now that our larger stone is in the hole and compacted, we can add our leveling stone
What happens here
After the leveling stone is transported, it is spread over the prepared 3/4 inch base layer. Screed pipes (visible as yellow flexible pipes) are laid down across the work area to establish the desired finished height and slope for the bedding course. A screed bar is then pulled by two workers across these pipes, using them as guides, to evenly distribute the stone, remove any excess material, and create a consistently level and properly graded surface. The goal is to ensure the 'grade is set' so that 'water is going that way' (indicating proper drainage).
Goal: Create a consistently level and graded bedding course for proper drainage.
