What happens here

Enter the cab of the excavator and begin the straightening process. Carefully lower the excavator's bucket onto the top, bowed edge of the dump trailer tailgate. Apply controlled, downward pressure in short, incremental presses. It is crucial to apply force slowly and observe the metal's reaction. Have an assistant or spotter outside the cab to monitor the progress and guide the operator, ensuring the tailgate is being straightened evenly and not over-bent. Repeat the process of applying pressure, checking, and adjusting until the significant bow is removed.
