What happens here

This DIY project details a temporary but effective method for unclogging a commercial kitchen/bathroom sink drain using a hand auger (snake) when a permanent repair is not immediately feasible. The process involves assessing the existing 'illegal' plumbing setup, removing the P-trap, clearing the main drain line with a hand auger, and then reinstalling the P-trap and testing for leaks and proper drainage.

Hey folks, that fix a guy here and today we're going to be going back in time a little bit. So I just wanted to share with you a video that I did probably about seven months ago, right? I think I've been doing YouTube for like seven months now. There's a place in Seattle that serves Nashville style hot shaking as cold sisters and brothers. If you guys ever in the area and you want to check out some seriously good food, really go over there, try it out. Compare. All right, because they are awesome. Their sides are awesome. Man, they make this corn. I love food. I'm a fat kid. I love food. I shot a video. It really was one of my firsts. The content I think is good, right? The purpose behind it is good. Just trying to help somebody out. That's what it was about. And I get to show you a little bit of what this place was. Really cool, right? They've since moved locations. Man, cool place. So I hope you enjoy the video. Come along. Let's get to fixing. All right, so I'm here at Sisters and Brothers. Good little Nashville hot chicken joint here in Seattle. And I was here eating earlier today and they had a drain issue. They had a stopped up lab sink and the customers weren't able to wash their hands. So I said, hey, I'll come over after work and hook it up. And so that's what I did. Tell them about all the art on the wall. And stuff. Cool little joint. So we're going to go ahead. We're going to take a look at this drain real quick and see what we can do for them. Okay, right off the get go, we can look at it and say, hey, this is not right. Like this right here is way illegal. The whole thing probably should be redone a little bit different. It's an inch and a quarter trap. I don't have an inch and a quarter trap. Like I said, I'm just doing this in prom two. So we're just going to see if we can get them back to going. It's awesome. They already got a little bucket right here. Not right, but it is what it is. And so we'll make the most out of it. Okay, let's just see if we can see down inside that hole. It looks all at all. Looks pretty clean. Looks like it maybe just right past that. So random things. You know, I just happen to have this little brass craft hand auger from Home Depot in my car. I put a little bend in the bottom that way. I know it's going to go down with this little snake. You kind of got to go slow and steady. Make sure it's going down without coming out. So say we're going bare bones here. This is the only flashlight I have to is my phone. But looks like it's working. So we'll just continue on our path. And okay, we got a bit in there. We got a little ball of hair there on the end. This little setup definitely not the most ideal, but it's just a quick job that we're doing for free. Just trying to help out a little establishment. Sorry. Yeah. Occupied for a sec. They've made a huge big trap out of this, which definitely legal. Not supposed to be this way. See what we can do here. Hopefully, at least for now they're setting up. Okay. So we've got no drips. It's not the most ideal situation here. Definitely let them know that they're in for some mother repairs. But as far as that goes, this has been drained with some hot water for a little bit now. So it looks like we're good to roll. So I just try to help where I can. Obviously, I was able to help here in this situation. Like I said, go quick Tim Verifix. Just able to get them back up to their customers, able to wash their hands. You guys have a great day. Thanks. Okay. So that's me helping this place out, getting their bathrooms sink back up and running. If you have a hot chicken joint, you're definitely going to want some place to wash your hands, right? So if you're ever in the area, go check these guys out, man. Really, if you like spice, this place is awesome. And you know what? Hit me up on an email. I would totally go with you. I love that spot. A little bit further away from you now. So I really can't go there from my lunch hour, which is kind of a bummer. But it's still well worth the trip in Seattle. I really hope you folks enjoyed the video. I hope you enjoyed that little stroll down memory lane. Even though seven months ago, it wasn't really that low. But it seems like an eternity to me.
