What happens here
This project showcases the extensive process of clearing an overgrown wooded area and preparing large quantities of firewood for heating. It involves using a mini excavator for brush and log handling, manual labor for detailed cleanup, and a log splitter for processing wood. The video emphasizes self-sufficiency in heating by managing one's own wood supply.

(4,326 characters)so I've always said you got to break an egg to make an omelet right which means there's it's always messy before it looks good well it's messy but we'll start cleaning this up it's not this is not going to be the end all be all but at least I want to get all these sticks out of here get this whole thing just kind of at least decent and then in the later date up come out and I'll pop all these stumps out start getting that cleaned up and then we'll regrade it and we'll have a nice lawn and maybe sometime when it's not uh almost the beginning of January and it's the middle of June or July we'll have a decent yard once more but let's just get to picking up let's see how this oh [Music] all set i' say she's PL w we might be able to get a little bit more on there but not much I don't like to take too lot too heavy [Music] alone [Music] so some of you guys have probably never done firewood never had to deal with firewood and here's the thing we do firewood not because it's free heat because it's not free by any means in fact it's some of the hardest work you ever going to do but because we're not dependent on someone else for our own resources that is a huge huge thing to be completely free and not worry about somebody else being able to control or manipulate your heat in the winter time and put it into your own hands that's why we do firewood Frankie Burns about 10 cords a year roughly I do about the same my daughter in the Y does about the same my uncle does about the same so we're handling 40 50 cord at least a year and when you do firewood there's a multiple stages to it first you drop the tree then you cut all the limbs off from the tree then you block the tree and blocking the tree means you put it into six or8 foot length and then from there you put it down into the lengths that can fit into your fireplace so you can see here here we take it to the next stage and then from there you split it and then after that you stack it and you season it so it dries so one of the things I always make sure that as I'm trying to stay ahead of the guys as they're in the blocking phase I'm always rotating the logs I'm always trying to keep it cuz you can only cut so far I'm always trying to make the blocking phase the easiest part of the job morning Timmy morning so that's when they say a piece of fire would heat you more than once well it'll heat you five six seven times meaning you're going to handle that wood that many times before you're the one looks like it's got more beef over there huh no the split fire one is faster so the split fire one let split that way split that way oh so you extend it out then you put one in again in and you'll have to wait for it to come back right I don't know why Frankie is doing that one Frankie just likes to rotate between things that's kind of a good idea I've never seen that before and it's got the play got a multile head on it so it's got a four-way head make the heads right there you ever see them trailers that they got that you can just drop the log in and it chops them and splits them all in one shot yeah yeah I've seen it hey Frankie no no room no wood there you go that's the only reason yeah freaky spoiled yeah I got to go through it's a mud hole I tell you it's not been rain oh I know I was wanting to play in my yard too and yeah all the brost come out and it's yeah yeah imagine what a skid that's a lot nicer than a skid steer is going to be oh a skid would have that would have been it would have been done it would have been there would been no looks pretty well opened up where's all the other trees everything along the road coming down too or I'm leaving those it's all that that's all got to go all dead you can actually treat it you know you can treat for they expensive right 200 bucks a tree every two years yeah and you got 100 trees here yeah I think I'll just turn it into Firwood plant some pine trees something that ashb don't like but I mean geez look at this pile I've got just from limbs y you going to burn it or you going to haul it out freak if I knew a beaver i' donate it to you move it right here man move some of this stuff let get a permit light her up permit what is that again right huh what if you want to do stuff the right way maybe move it away from my my bulk diesel fuel tank [Music] yeah yeah I don't
