What happens here
The video opens by showcasing a worker operating a walk-behind paver roller over a newly installed patio of large, rectangular pavers. The narrator explains that for modern, larger paver slabs, a traditional vibratory plate compactor (shown in an inset video) is unsuitable because its concentrated force can cause the pavers to fracture. Instead, a paver roller, which features four rollers on its base, is used. These rollers effectively spread out the compacting force across a wider area, preventing damage. The worker systematically pushes the roller across the paved surface, ensuring even compaction.
Goal: Understand and apply the correct compaction technique for large-format pavers using a roller to avoid damage.
