What happens here

This project demonstrates the efficient construction of a pergola frame attached to an existing house. Key steps include preparing the ledger board by pre-installing joist hangers and staining, then securely mounting this ledger board to the house's structural studs using lag screws. Finally, the cross beams (rafters/purlins) are installed into the pre-attached hangers, completing the overhead structure.

We've got our ledger for our pergola going up, and what we've done is pre-installed all of our hangers so that it makes it a lot easier. We've also pre-stained it, so we don't have to go around those hangers. We're going to get it up there. We're just going to send some 3-in screws uh right behind the joist hangers that are above the door cuz we know that's all solid to get it set, and then we've got our stud layout marked on the wall, and we'll send it with full-size uh lags to really get it locked in for justice.
